This is lovely poetry with a great suggestion. I'd love to go out and find a new friend, but I have social anxiety and it's hard. I'm lucky that I have my husband who is my best friend. Great advice though. Thanks for sharing.

This is good advice and very good sentiment towards friends, old and new. While I like the message, your words do not seem to flow as well as they usually do. I even read it aloud and tried to keep the rhythm. Maybe it's just me. I still like it!

Your lucky I'm starting from the top of the page It has been a week since my computer broke down I have to ask the other to forgive me for being so late.
I like the words to your poem they are so true yes it is hard to find a true friend keep them as long as you can when you do.

"Making a Friend" is filled with excellent advice. We moved about a year ago and then the virus came just when we were just starting to find our way around. We miss our friends from our old neighborhood and look forward to making new friends here, eventually.
Well done Jake,
Blessings

I love how you finish this poem with hope and a new purpose in life. "Give their heart and mind new glow". Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

So few people are grateful and thankful for little kindnesses that come their way. You are very right that noticing kindness and letting the person know will bring you new friends for life.

This is beautiful with a wonderful suggestion. Both hearing and saying kind words are powerful to the speakers and recipients. It can simply make a day special for someone, or cement a new friendship. Lovely poem.

Your poem describes how a friend is an everlasting gift until the end. Your smooth poetic form adds to the strength of your theme. "What's better than a new found friend?" fits the poem perfectly because it is a question. Excellent use of words.

Appreciating those around us who bring joy is no small thing. Your poem is well written with rhyme and rhythm - a lovely sonnet to celebrate the positivity in life.

Good thoughts, but I got a bit confused and had to reread the section. I was looking for a comma to pause the thought. Moving, thought-provoking. I like your 8-syllable rhythm, as well.
