All elements here. Just lovely photo and colors. Who doesn't love to look at and think about yachts? Beautiful word visuals of love. Hugging coastline, arriving, kissing in greeting, embracing.
Well done!

What a wonderful metaphorical painting you've achieved in this one, LisaMay! ;) A gentle, warming vision in only seventeen syllables... :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;) Yvette

A sunrise or sunset with yachts in the harbour is something I used to watch all summer when we lived near the shore of Lake Michigan... A gorgeous 5-7-5 poem :)

Thanks for your review. What a nice view you had at Lake Michigan! I love sailing but have had very few opportunities to do it.

A very well-written 5-7-5 about the warm welcome from the yachts at the coastline arriving with sun kissed greetings embraced by the harbor where they are safe.

Hugging, kissing, embracing! Whatever happened to social distancing? Love this poem--great imagery of intimacy of days gone by. Best of luck--you may snag a prize. Cheers. LIZ

Yachts can do it, but you guys in US can't. We can now here in NZ.

Gorgeous picture and such a sweet word play of "hugging the coast" and the embrace of the harbor as the yachts have arrived back home. Loved the "sun-kissed greetings," too. Best wishes in the contest!

It's a shame that yachts can do it but you humans in USA can't.

The sailboats out on the water are a pretty sight to see. When we are at Lake Erie on the 4th of July, they shoot the fireworks out over the lake. Lake Erie is known for it's beautiful sunsets so before sunset all the people that have boats come out to find just the right place to anchor their boats for the show. It's fun to watch all the boats coming in. That's what your poem and picture reminded me of. Good luck with the contest.
HUGS!
parry! Quack!

    That sounds absolutely delightful! Enjoy.
    Thanks for your review.
(When we were looking for a cat to adopt recently, we saw one advertised called Quack. It seemed like I should have it, but there were serious health issues... maybe because it swallowed a whole duck????)

Ummm could be! Better to not have a sick quack.

That's a very pretty picture, Lisa May, and very nice words to describe it. I like the image of "harbour embrace." I'm not a sailor myself (although I've never turned down a fully equipped cruise ship), but I can imagine that arriving in a safe harbor after a sea voyage would feel like receiving a warm embrace. Good luck in the contest.

This is a very soft and enchanting 5-7-5 poem. It reads like a breath of fresh air in this time of division and turmoil. For a while I was transported to that land of sun kisses greetings. You write beautiful lines.

This effective 5-7-5 relies for its effect on three great examples of personification, one per line, but I liked 'harbour embrace' best as being the most original.

    Thank you. Originality is elusive.

    Or even illusive?

    That too. Nice one.
(I heard you had a birthday recently. I hope you celebrated it well. My belated felicitations to you.)

Thank you for that. It was just a Zoom gathering of those who had been students of mine in past classes.
