Dawn is such a comforting time of day, bringing with it the hopes of a new day filled with possibilities and promises. You capture the feeling of Nature's affirmation so well.

This is a lovely poem that has a positive message through the arrival of dawn. Mornings begin a new day and your words remind the reader to continue to dream and appreciate the beauty of a new day. "As he has risen, she will hear the loon is my favorite line". Loons have a special sound and they fit in your poem.

Hello Elaine, thanks for reading and glad you enjoyed. We don't have Loons here but it fitted well for Americans to read. Blessings, Kay.

Hi Kay. This is a nicely positive poem. Morning is my favorite time. The last stanza is my favorite: "For there is always hope in the light, not in the darkness of night." Things always look better in the morning. Marilyn

I enjoyed your lovely, hope-filled poem, dear Kay. I'm not much of a "morning person," but this gives me hope that maybe someday, I could be one!
Your last two lines are very special. And the image is so beautiful, I can almost see the movement of the sun coming up in it!

Hello Mary Kay, thank you for reading, glad it cheered you up. How are the nasty critters under the floor? Had it fixed yet? Love, Kay.

You're very welcome, dear friend. You know, we're not even 100% sure that the gnats are under the kitchen sink vs. some other unknown leaky, damp area in the apartment. It would be maddening to tear it up, only to find that it wasn't the source. In the meantime, the air conditioning is suppressing their population (they seem to prefer heat), and we don't have a very big apartment to cool off. The traps are helping also, but now other insects might be a problem, which I will try to share with you in an email, when I have some time to do so. The depression and anxiety have been rather overwhelming, particularly as there seems to be no end in sight to the long-term effects of preventive measures needed against Covid-19. It's just a kind of grieving for our former way of life, which seems to be over, for the foreseeable future. Am I being overly pessimistic? I don't know... I guess time will tell.
I love Psalm 121, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help..." and that is where I have to redirect my focus, constantly.
    Bless your heart, Kay.

"My help cometh from the Lord." I believe we are in the last days, god has given us so many chances to change our ways and return to the Father. The World is in flux. Our faith keeps us whole. No return to our former lives, still there will be light at the end of the tunnel. We have to go through the dark to get to the light. My love and prayers for you. Kay xx

If one can view a morning over a vast expanse of water, it really is magical. The call of the loon is the most gorgeous sound. I also really like the idea of "touch the morning". Nicely penned!

I am late reading through dear Ausie...so much going on , yet, this was beautifully calm, beautifully serene, and effortless like a walk on the very place the mind's eye takes us , as the beautiful imagery you awaken here.

It was a pleasure to read this. You captured the ambiance and you captured the poetic content beautifully.
Good to see you writing like this...keep up the good work.
Lovely
Have a beautiful day.
RG

This is a soothing poem with a beautiful picture to match. We all need to have moments of relaxation or else we won't be able to recover from the darkness that arrives as a natural part of this present world. As your concluding verse says, there is always hope in the light! Stay safe, my dear friend! xo

This is a beautiful poem, Aussie. I loved reading it. Your image choice is awesome and so perfect for your great imagery-creating words. Your repeated lines fit in seamlessly. Your message of hope is poetically delivered. I love the way you personified the sun, moon, fears, compassion, and skies. This is one of your best poems. Thank you for sharing it.
Respectfully, Jan

We do need to step back from the chaos and look at the sun, moon and stars. They will rise everyday regardless of what is going on here on earth. We need to rise above it all as well...

A lovely poem Aussie and I love your opening line - take the time to touch the morning - I love it when I hear the birds outside starting off their day just before the sun comes up.Lovely closing verse too - compassion - in a world that still can dream - hopefully our world still can. I wish I had a six left for this one, lovely writing,
cheers,
valda

Thank you Valda. So pleased you enjoyed. We need to look up and see the wonders, not down and see fear and depression. Love, Kay.
