A very well-written twenty line poem about the eclipse of humanity. It seems the human race have everything wrong lately. Most people see evil as good and what was good is now evil.

Thank you, Sandra, for stopping in on this one, my lady - your support is so appreciated! Here's wishing you a Magnificent Monday out there... I'll be back on schedule in another week or so....? LOL! ;) Yvette
P.S. Sorry, I'm soooooo far behind on everything as we are trying to 'downsize' over here. Just about finished going through the whole house and deciding what to donate and what to put in storage so that the house 'presents' as attractive and roomy - lol! Now I'm slogging (REALLY slow going - ugh!) through room by room and cleaning from floor to ceiling and in-between... forgot how much I HATE moving because you get the house the way you would like it to 'look' and then sell it! :) :)

Pretty powerful. These words scream at you, they stir the senses, they make you ponder, I hear a lot of anger and frustration. Very well written with an excellent presentation. I take it, the downsizing you refer, is at work? What's happening in the workplace because of this pandemic is horrifying and very very dramatic. Many people went to work from home. Those less fortunate lost their jobs due to workplace closures. This coronavirus changed the world, and keeps changing every day.

Where are we heading?

No sixes left, my friend. But I am taken with the poignant logic of your strong posting in the 20 Line Poem contest. I think you are going to do very well. BTW-- heartfelt congratulations on your recent Review Contest results! xo

Wow! A lot to ponder here. It seems the world has gone crazy, but I think it will make a turn around. At some point, God will step in, and we had better prepare for that. I don't think I want to live like your last two lines, "For in the end, will life be saved, if breath is but to be endured?"

Ain't it the truth. I'm never moving again until they carry me out in a pine box. I'm too old for all that. I know the hard working you're putting into it. Don't over do, and we'll be waiting on you when you have time. 8-)

Welcome back and best wishes with your downsizing. Thank you for sharing your reflections about the bleakness we are experiencing. I admired your rhymes, use of alliteration, personification of "death" and dramatic "prison glass" simile. This poem has to win the 20-Line Poem contest- Joan

If 'breath is but to be endured' (my favorite line, of all this beautiful and melancholy poem, by the way) then perhaps more than ONE soul will 'seek solace in death's arms'... *sigh*

We stand before the cusp of judgment and refuse to see it. When will our leaders admit they're wrong and turn to God. What a wonderfully written poem. I wish I had a six.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day and God bless.

Your poem is very thought-provoking, vividly describing the mindset that
some reach---bereft of what makes life what they are used to, what it once was; they conclude that they are merely existing. God help them!

Reading your poetry only makes me want to try harder and improve. You set such a good and high standard to wit I would aspire. I wonder if it is because I understand your poems more so than others and in a way we share a common belief about life? Great reflections and profound thoughts found in this poem, Yvette. BTW, I think downsizing may have inspired a bit of this :) Loren

Excellent poem, but that is very depressing. It's about like reading Shakespeare. Hope your real life is better than that. Good luck with your downsizing, and looking forward to more of your fanciful writing.
