Many kill the Sharks for support te are cleaners of our waters people don't cre though. The fishermans bets are killers themselves trapping so many meals ,sea turtles and such.

Hello Barbara, Thanks for reading. Our sharks are now on the endangered list; stupid people know not to swim at dawn and dusk when the sharks feed. I just want the netting gone! Love, Kay XX

Hi Kay. Great job on this commentary rhyming poem. Loved the story and the author's note. Just a question here:
"He cut the motor, let her drift
Saw the calf distressed and caught
Knife held between teeth, fast lift
Over the side mercy sort"(did you mean to say "sought" instead of "sort?"
In any case, a nice poem. Best of luck in the contest.
Hugs,
Marilyn

Ooh, clever reviewer you. I have made it 'sought.' The thing is with me, I get a poem in my head, don't write it down, type it in. I thank you for picking up the mistake. Love, Kay XX

Man should not kill and keep whales in prison but can set whales free from nets; enjoyed the read; well said, well done; thanks for sharing this. ALCREATOR

This poem tells of a brave man you loves nature. It is so great of him to save that baby whale though it was dangerous for him.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

A nice poetic retelling of a YouTube video I'm pretty sure I saw a while back. Or perhaps it was something similar. Either way, an emotional appeal to find another way...

So this really happened! I am so glad this fisherman could save the young whale from its strangling nets.
I agree with you. We should protect the sea-life, not murder it.
Well written, Aussie!

Hello Marjon, Thanks so much for reading, glad you enjoyed. He thought of the baby whale instead of himself. Blessings, Kay.

Nice rhyming poetry on a great subject. I felt your passion for the marine animal and for the water, the sea. It took me a moment to find the rhyming pattern as the first and second paragraphs are different, but I think you did a great job! Loved the graphic

Hi Karen, It was an actual photo of him saving the baby whale. Glad you enjoyed. Only takes one person to care and look what he did!
    Blessings, Kay.

I remember this one, I think it's the guy who they said could have got a huge fine for freeing the distressed animal, for destroying the shark net. Nicely told in your rhyming poem of man working with this creature of the sea, in their ocean.
cheers,
valda

Yes, Valda he was the one. The fine was $26,000 for interfering with the nets. They didn't dare fine him, they congratulated him instead. Love, Kay XX

I agree that there must be another way to handle the issue of dangerous sharks. Too many other sea creatures end up being destroyed. The sea is, after all, their home. We were not meant to live in water - or we'd have fins! Thank you for sharing this uplifting experience. There is still some good in the world.

Thank you for reading June. I am angry about this, so much talking and nothing has been done. Surely there must be an electronic type of gadget that sends all of them away. Love, K.

Your well-written narrative poem tells the touching story of a man who risks his life to save a trapped animal. To me, the theme conveyed is that heroism may occur in the oddest places.

Hi Janice, Thanks for reading. He was a brave man that put the whale first, disregarding his own safety. The fine for interfering with sea life is $26,000 they didn't dare try it on. There would be a public outcry.
    Blessings, K.
