I had to study it to understand the form and you hit it perfectly, but i loved the whole piece even before i started to break it apart. It is so much fun to read and a child would really love this

Thank you, Barb. I hope so.

Very catchy, I like it. The subject was good and the story well told. It flows very nicely. It happens often when we think we may not like the book and it does turn out well.

There was only one book in my whole life that I did not finish. Thanks for reviewing this, Ralf.

I would love to know that one.
I too did not finish actually two books. I threw them in the garbage. One was by John Updike and one was an early Sandra Brown book, although I love her later books.

If I can recall the title, I'll let you know. I was in a smarmy book club who chose weird titles from the New York Times. This one was about the lifestyle about a young gay man. It wasn't the reason I didn't finish it. It was the horrible writing. I only had 53 pages to finish it, but couldn't stand another page! lol

Very cute! I'm glad that you stuck with the poem, too. Rhyming apparently comes easy to you, and I'll bet you're one of those famous, outstanding FS whizzes I know so well.
Keep on keeping on!

You can't always judge a book by its cover and once you found your book you gave it a chance as you read on, the book improved. There are so many elements to a making a book good and enjoyable, your Refrain is magical and well rhymed, love Dolly x

Thank you so very much for the author notes. Mono-rhyme is definitely a challenge. I like the theme, of being persevering and getting through a book that does not seem easy on the surface. Thank you for posting.

Come to think of it, I think there are fewer than a handful that I have never finished. One by Charles Dickens was pretty long-winded, so I started skipping chapters :)

I don't blame you. hahaha

Loved this, Yvonne! You gave us a great message of the rewards of sticking to some task. It's easy to give up and then there are books that start out slow but are satisfying to finish!
