I can relate to this one both the glasses forever needing cleaning, and the book that sometimes you want to give up on but "I'll just read a few more chapters" then it gets you in. Nicely told in your Roger's Refrain Yvonne,

Thanks. There has been only one book I didn't finish, and I can't even remember the title.

LOL!! Oh my goodness -- sounds like an afternoon around here BEFORE all these %$#%@^ packing boxes began to sprout up - lol!! ;) Love the rhythm and feel to this one, Yvonne -- makes it even that more relatable, my lady!! ;) Thanx for sharing that talented pen in your RR! ;) Yvette

Oh, I sympathize with you. There's nothing worse than having to downsize. I did it for my mother, and then two years ago, had to go through all the stuff again, deciding what to keep. Hand in there. It will be over with soon. Take a break. It will be there when you're ready. 8-)

Hello, my friend,

I like your poem. It has a really nice rhyme and meter. Perseverance is a great quality to have. Well done.

A very well-written Roger's Refrain. We often give up reading a boom when it doesn't start well and draw our attention to read more. If we out down the book we may never discover the surprises later in the book.

I know the feeling very well. Normally I would put it to aside and not bother with it, but then it happens just as you say. You persevere and find it was worth the effort. All best. Ulla:)))

Oh, I've come across a few books I just couldn't read. They may have been written very well, for all I know, but I couldn't read them.

The author's words are interesting, clear and creative. I found the poem
flows and connects well. The reader pondered on the theme of this poem
and thought about always giving something I am doubting a chance.

Ah! How many excellent books have we started than put down because "The story wasn't good at first. The author didn't seem well versed,..."

I don't remember the title anymore. I read almost all of it before I finally gave up. 8-)

Your poem is right on for most I would think. Sort of like writing your name and reading it when it is cold. LOL.
thanks for sharing your lovely poem. Seems fitting to me.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Your excellent iambics make the monorhyming bearable as the rhythm drives it along. The thematic repetition in the last line of each verse is an excellent idea, presumably your own since it is not mentioned in your note as being a feature of the form.
