-Good artwork, photos, and choice of animal, Sandra.
-I didn't know about the narwhal.
-The poem is very good and flows well.
-An excellent overview of this unusual mammal.
-All of the detail about the tooth is interesting,
along with how they change color as they age.
-You pose a good question about that, and
it does remind us of the human race.
-Very good examples that kids can relate to
when you talk about species that show off!
-I also like the question you include from Google,
and your answer, too!
-I can picture a kid thinking about that
and trying to figure it out or why someone
would ask that in the first place!
-Including the bowhead whale adds
a good way of showing what can
happen to some creatures in the sea,
and how some can be really resilient.
-I like the concluding paragraph about their
status, and the ending thought is a good message, too.
-Very well done; I enjoyed this one a lot.

What a wonderful animal to highlight here for the letter N in this lovely abcb rhymed Octave. I was delighted by your extensive and informative notes. I was expecting your to write about the Nightingale or the Newt, but am pleased you chose the Narwhal. I learned a lot. I suspect that the tooth may be a tool used to probe through the ice, or to dislodge some food source from the ice.

Very interesting and well written! You did well writing this piece in an age-appropriate fashion, keeping the facts interesting and entertaining. You even threw in an additional bit of info about the bowhead whale. Well done!

This was a nice essay to read that gave me much information about narwhals I did not know. Like how only males have tusks and that the can grow up to 8 feet! Also that they are teeth. I hope your essay helps your grandson. Good luck with future chapters.

Thank you soooooo much, Linda! LOL! I just caught on about you preferring to be at the rear! LOL! So would I! It would be quite painful if the leader had to do an emergency stop!
Graham loves everyone to have a smile on their face, doesn't matter what it is. They do look like part seal, done't they? They are part of the whale family, but they are a whale with a tooth! LOL
Thank you dear, so very much for this lovely, fun review, and all the shiny stars.
This is quite spooky, while typing out your reply, a text message came on my phone to say your package will be with you today. YAY!! Let me know when it arrives! Sending you loads of love and a ginormous hug! :)) Sandra xxxxx

I'm new to the site and you are my first review. I think this is a great topic considering that narwhals are often overlooked. I really enjoy reading about narwhals and so does my son. He loves books with facts and statistics especially when it comes to animals. The way you have the page set up is excellent. The poem at the beginning builds interest and the images are in all the right places. The only suggestion I have is to consider adding another image or two toward the end - possibly an image of the bowhead since you use it for comparison - and another after the conclusion. I can't speak for others, but my children love lots of pictures. This is great work and I thank you for sharing.

Thank you so very much, Charley, for your really wonderful review. And, WELCOME TO THE SITE! I thought your suggestions were valid and I'm now going to add a picture of the bowhead and a couple more pictures to the end, and a final one. I've done that in some of the previous animals in the ABC book, and will go back and make sure I have them on the rest. Thank you again, your review was very helpful. I hope you find it as enjoyable as I have since joining Fanstory. :) Sandra xx

Another wonderful lesson about a beautiful animal. I can see how they are compared to unicorns. I had no idea it was a tooth. Yay for new knowledge!

LOL, I didn't even know they existed until a few months ago, so I had to bring them into my ABC book. I'm glad you are still enjoying them. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

This truly deserves a six-star review. So sorry I have none.
What an extraordinary mammal this is and how intriguing your notes are.
If this is a sample of one of your chapters it is delightful and so informative. I have never heard of a Narwhal and am so pleased to read about it. I like the way you have interspersed the pictures between paragraphs. That will be what a 12-year-old would love. Absolutely wonderful. I hope you post some more chapters.

Thank you so much for the thought of six stars, Ralf, that is so nice of you. But, your review is even more wonderful! I will be posting letter O later this week. I love to find out things that a youngster would enjoy knowing about. I've had some lovely reviews, as is yours. Thank you, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Hello Sandra. The poem is a nice job of summing up the characteristics of the Narwhal. The information you provided is very interesting to read about their habitat and how little is really known about them.
