Hello Willie,
Thank you for your 40 years of service in law enforcement. I concur, that the police need to have the tools to defend themselves. Also, I believe their job is a difficult one. The distain is for the bad apples in law enforcement which makes the narrative seem so bad against police officers. This is a well written poem of a tribute to the good police officers. Thanks for this heartfelt message. Nice imagery. Happy writing:-)

At least someone is on the side of the good cop. Their are many more good ones than bad ones despite the white cops killing black men and children for no apparent reason in quick succession. George Floyd and others should never have happened and never would if all police were well trained and impartial.

I agree, people are all too quick to criticize the police, but they do see horrors that many of us could never dream of. I think this will make many people stop and think. A well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.

Yes, the police! It is necessary for any nation to fight crime and protect citizen security. I believe the issue is upstream as the selection of the candidates should be done more seriously. There should be a psychiatric analysis, too, if they do not undergo, and candidates with racial tendencies should be excluded to avoid other dangerous and disarming cases as those of nowadays.

Yes it must be very hard being an officer. It is sad that your country and mine blame entire organizations for the acts of a few bad people. They have done more good than bad as a whole. Without them I could not take my children outside.

I agree with you Willie, I'm convinced the devil is working overtime, to turn bad to good, good to bad, there are elements in our society only anarchy in their hearts, and boy whatever problems we have with a police force, there are way, way more without them. Yes, there is good apples and bad apples, we just have to go through the basket. Every since I was a child and being African American, I looked up to the policemen in my neighborhood. What would we do without them.
The bad ones will get pitched or punished for their behavior but we should keep in mind, we need them.
This is a nice poem for policemen who risk their lives daily.
Good luck with it, they need cheering up.

Willie P. Smith, I strongly agree with you. The radical left, the Marxists, the anarchists, the Democrats, they all try to target the police and make them look like criminals. There are bad eggs in the police force but there are more good people and heroes wearing the blue uniform. Please keep up the fight against those who want to destroy America. You said it. This is madness. I agree with you one hundred percent. There are several law enforcement officers in my family and I'm sure they appreciate the support of your poem. These democratic politicians don't want to confront these radical kids because they don't want negative publicity but in effect, they are undermining our security. Most of these cases, maybe not all, but most, involve criminals who are not cooperating with law enforcement trying to make a legitimate arrest. And the news media fans the flames of all this for their own aims. It's a thankless job and I wonder why anyone would want to do it nowadays. Imagine a world where the cops are the bad guys and the criminals are the heros. estory
