What a gracious tribute to fathers. Whatever would we do without them? I know I appreciate my father. I should probably tell him more often just how important he is.

w.j.debi-thanks for your wonderful review. It reminds me of the lyrics to a song by Dan fogelberg leader of the band,
"Thank you for your music and your stories of the road. Thank you for the freedom when it came my time to go. I thank you for the kindness, and the times that you got rough.
And, Papa, I don't think I said" I love you " near enough".
Thank you for your wonderful response it means a lot to me, as my father is here to visit in California. He turned 83 years old on June 6th, Emily covid-19 hid he was working full-time at Ace hardware, playing in three piece band, and still learning new songs like Sweet child of mine by guns n roses
if you are interested, I've written a couple of other things for him. The greatest gift and dad in the world in my portfolio.
Thanks and God bless

I'm so glad you had a great experience with your father. Hopefully, more readers will be able to identify with your poem than those who can't. Some may become saddened grieving what they never had. As one who is in the the latter group, I am happy for those who have had a happy childhood. Well expressed.

Darren, This is a very beautiful and well worded Father's Day acrostic poem you have penned. You used very nice imagery from the art work you chose and very good heart felt words. I hope you had a great Father's Day also. May God bless you my friend. Teri

What thoughtful acrostic poem! From what you shared of your father, all these words ring true and sincere and I loved the description in your second stanza. Wish this was in the contest. Still I hope you shared it - it would be perfect for a Father's Day card!

Wish I had a six left for this, Darren. It is a positive message regarding a very important day in many lives. I don't think we have enough things being shared right now filled with love and joy. I'm glad you posted this!
