Ha-haha, how cute! This is an adorable bird entry, my friend, it has great alliteration and nice video to pair with it, as well. Good Luck! ~Kerry

Glad you enjoyed the read . Yes papa ? emu is an extra loving parent .. love the colour of the eggs too .
Male seahorses have a pouch where the female deposits her eggs ..
...it?s up to him to protect and then give birth to the fray. Amazing
Keep safe!!!

Nothing imaginary, it is real, mother emu finishes her role by laying the eggs and father emu plays the role of mom sits, turns and protects the eggs; still we may call him father of the year; but I am not sure if an emu bird may be a blackbird or songbird, though reason of bidding the bird bye is not clear to me; well said, enjoyed the read; thanks for sharing this; keep writing. Wish good luck in the contest. ALCREATOR

I understand your doubts .. before buying a spot I checked some of the other entries ..flamingo, eagle, emperor penguin, seagull ...
..these are all definitely neither blackbirds nor songbirds .. at that point I went with the emu ( biggrin)
Also in the contest requirements the author wrote: write a 5-7-5 about any kind of real bird species ..which kinda contradicts the title Bye bye Blackbird ..
We 'll just have to see what the committee decides ..
Thanks for reviewing my poem!
