Where are all the Peacemakers?
Hello
Good entry for the
Political Senryu writing prompt contest. Good syllable count. The lines connect grammatically.

The author's words are strong, clear and creative. The words of this
poem have a very clear message to all. I like the strong words the
author used to convey this message. The title and artwork compliment
this poem well.....

Your poem has passed an age-long message in just few words. There is no excuse for violence. There is hope that the country will come out of this stronger and more united. Thanks for sharing your beautiful thoughts.

ESOSTINE, first and most importantly, thank you! There will only be a glimmer of hope for peace and the beginning of accepting our differences and begin to celebrate our commonality when we all can look one another eyeball to eyeball without flinching or turning our eyes away from our soulful penetration and tell one another ... I see the GOD in you ... my brother, my sister! That is my hope for every man, woman and child in America.
Comment from Justin Chopin
I agree with your statement. Your words seem very wise especially with all of the chaotic riots that have been going on around the country where cars and buildings and other pieces of property have gone up in horrendous and hellacious flames. Violence cannot be shut down with more violence . Great job with this piece.

With twelve descriptive words, and adherence to the syllable count, you have summed up the present situation. One can understand people wanting to express their abhorrence at what has taken place but mindlessly attacking innocent members of the community is horrific.

Preserve .... that is precisely what we simply must do... persevere!

You're right. But there is so much pent up rage. This has been going on
for four hundred years. If nothing else, this has the country talking about
racism.

Yes, but talking is all we seem to do whenever these evetns occur, it is time for a deep and open dialogue to happen with real solutions put into place.
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written political senryu about protesters who burn down everything in their path about a protester's who lost his life because of police action, they make major damages to the city and will not bring him back to life.

How fitting for today. I hope all the destruction got the attention of the powers that be. I know the destruction was horrible and wrong. Not to condone what is occurring, but sometimes we need to break down to build up.

Comment from Jacob David Collins
I agree with your words. It's absolutely horrible to hear what has happened in America, but fighting it with looting, destruction and violence is not the answer. I fully support peaceful protests, but not what we have recently been seen. A powerful piece. Good luck in the contest!

Excellent truth contained in this political poem for the contest. Good luck in the contest, and thanks for expressing your creativity in a constructive way. This nation needs a lot of peacemakers to work together now. Bill
