Watching the inaction of the authorities in cities like New York boggles the mind. The closest thing to anarchy is what is appearing in front of those who are watching TV. Perhaps we should dump the TV and go out and guard the stores. Where are the owners? Are they watching helplessly? You don't want war, but surely if you decided with the other store owners, you could defend properties. Indeed! Where are the peacemakers? You are to be commended for a splendid presentation. :)Ralf

This political senryu, Where Are All the Peacemakers?, has the proper 5-7-5 formatting and asks thugs and thieves to think critically. The kind of people who show up after the protesters go home are why cops have to take extreme measures with suspects. That doesn't clear this bad cop, but reminds everyone that the cops aren't messing with little old ladies or children, but armed and drug-crazed lunatics. Most citizens wouldn't last an hour against them. Cops interact with them twenty-four hours a day.

Wrong is wrong, just as right is right. This is an inescapable truth. Pretty Boy Floyd was an attractive killer, but a killer just the same. The infamous Ted Bundy was considered attractive, but proved to be a murderous demon. You cannot hide wrong behind a shiny personae, a preferred or favored ethnic group. Neither can you demonize them by that same criteria.

Our world has lost its direction towards peace and hope for its people. I enjoy reading over and over again these 17 syllables you shared. We got to do better and making a change, starting with ourselves. Also, I pray for a better world where our children and grandchildren can live together without hate, prejudice, bigotry, intolerance and bias towards anyone. Yes, where are the peacemakers?
