Well done, Sandra. I love the mixture of prose and poetry in this work.

I think this work will be beneficial to any child, and more particularity a dyslexic and an autistic child. The rhyming poem will capture his attention and tickle the child's fancy that to a a point that she/he will be excited to read the prose section out of curiosity. Excellent approach for an educational subject.

I wonder what animal that you would use for the letter "X".

Thank you so very much for the golden sixth star, and fabulous review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I haven't told Eric what I'm doing yet, it will be a suprise, (I hope). The X? I have it all sorted, :)) but I didn't have a lot to choose from, as you can imagine! Lol. Thank you again, my friend. Stay safe and well. Sandra xx

Wow! I think this has to be the most interesting animal alphabet yet. The fact that jelly fish were sent into space proves it. Who would have thought they would survive, far less reproduce? So enjoying this journey you're taking to help your grandson - I seem to learn so much!

Hi Sandra, I wondered what you would choose for J. A fascinating selection of different types of jelly fish. The Immortal one caught my eye. Oh! to be able to regenerate and start again, but perhaps not as a jelly fish. lol ~Mel~ xx

Lol, no, not as a jellyfish, but I'd love to be able to regenerate to my late teens and know what I know now. That would be perfect. Thank you so much for reading this one, Mel, and for your lovely review. Have a wonderful day! :)) Sandra xx

This has to be one of the most interesting pieces I've read since I rejoined FanStory a few days ago. I knew nothing about jellyfish (other than that it hurts like heck to be stuck by them) before starting your story and now feel the need to go do some serious research so I can use the knowledge in a story. Wonderful job!

P.S. Your grandchild is so lucky to have someone like you in his life to help him deal with his unique abilities - Go Grandma!

What a lovely review, Sherry, thank you so very much. And welcome back to Fanstory, I don't think I met you last time. I joined in 2011. Have a lovely day, my new friend. :)) Sandra xx

I joined back in Dec. of 2008 and wrote quite a few pieces in 2009. Maybe half a dozen the next year and about the same in 2011. And then would periodically bounce back over for a month or so, write a story or 2 and be gone again since then. And haven't written anything since 2017 until last week. So it's not surprising that you missed me - lol. Hopefully we can read for each other and I'll offer up something you can enjoy. Stay safe & healthy in these totally weird times!

Oh my God, this is so perfect for a kid. I think your trick with the rhyme glue my attention to the rest of the text :"There are so many jellyfish
of different shapes and size,
if I could show you all of them,
you'd not believe your eyes.
Some jellyfish have rows of teeth
but not a brain or heart,
and none of them has any bones--
You'd think they'd fall apart!"
Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next letter.

J and the Jellyfish have just joined us. The fun poem, interesting data, and spectacular photography all contribute to a terrific swim with J.

I don't think I'd want to swim with them now I know more about them. lol. In fact, if I lived in Australia with the box jellyfish, I wouldn't even go on the beach!! Thank you so much, Bill, for your continued support and the lovely review. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Hello Sandra,
Another wonderful fact-filled chapter. Jellyfish are fine,
but if it were me, I'd have used the jaguar, not the icky, squishy
jelly fish. It's a good thing Santa didn't have a belly that shook
like a bowl full of jellyfish.
We went to Bermuda once, and there were warnings about the sting
of the jelly. No swimming that morning.
When you said they don't have brains, I though our President was
a not-so-distant relative.
Great little poem and a lot of notes. :)
Well done
Robert

LOL!! Robert, that is your amazing president you are talking about! You won't be surprised to know that a few others have said the same thing!
Thank you so much for the lovely six stars and the fun review, my friend. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I did think about the jaguar, but chose the jellyfish because of the fun things like being the first to go into space and the immortal ones. I thought about doing another ABC book as a follow on, but when I checked X out, the one I have is the only one. Surprisingly, though, there are a few Zs out there. Thanks again, my friend. Have a lovely day. :)) Sandra xx

-This is a phenomenal piece about jellyfish, Sandra.
-I didn't know much of anything about them,
except the clear kind that sting.
-You did a great job with the artwork,
pictures, and presentation.
-The small segments are very good,
and easy for a younger reader to manage.
-I like the headings with the common
names and the scientific names.
-As far as names go, I like the
spaceship jellies or moon jellies.
-This is interesting, well organized,
and flows well, too, like the jelly fish:)
-I do not have a favorite jelly fish,
but the bit about them being in
space was very interesting seeing
that we just had a trip to the space station!
-Very well done!

That was a happy coincidence that the rocket was sent up to the space station as I was doing this one. lol. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you so much for the lovely six stars, Pam, and your really nice comments on this piece. I didn't think it would such a long part, but there was so much I wanted to put in once I got started, that in the end I had to draw the line somewhere. I'm delighted that you enjoyed reading about them. After all the research, I've decided my swimming days in the sea has come to an end. :)) Have a lovely day, my friend. Big hugs, Sandra xxx
