I tried pottery once and couldn't get past the blob stage. It's more difficult that people could imagine. What a special craft that is, and the craftsmen and women are amazing at the fine art of pottery. You are so lucky to have seen the potters in action. Potters certainly are creators, and so many wonderful pots are crafted with skilled hands and a foot pedal.

I think is a most image filled and emotive poem, and I see that it is part of series, so I look forward to more of the folk culture of pottery.

Thank you, estory. My daughter-in-law is a master Potter and owns her own business. She has been so kind as to give we a few days of lessons most recently. I am near blind as you know but still felt very comfortable at the wheel and with he prep work, too. She fired my work for me and it came out splendid. I made my husband an Anniversary plate and a few little love gifts. I hope to post soon and know from reading this I will have one fan who appreciates nice hand-made pottery. It is true Americana art I would love to see revived. Your area is know for it's many fine crafts and furnishings. :)
