I have yet to find anything to criticize with your poems-they are from the heart and simple in message but powerful in your delivery. Thank you for sharing your time and your thoughts with us through your meaningful poetry and wisdom of age
All the Best!

I think this poem is awesome, and mirrors the same feelings I have about getting old. Not only do I miss the old days but also the people that once shared those days with me. Thank you for this wonderful piece.

Wow jaybird you have every right to be tired. I'm 72 and was I read your opening line, "I know what he means"
I think as we get older we realize what is really important and it's not money and riches. Lovely poem, totally agree,
cheers.

I read your poem with understanding; getting old isn't what we make of it, it is what it makes of us. Our minds stay sharp and our bodies need eternal rest. Looking forward to the day I can leave this place, see my family and most of all, see the Lord in all His glory. Thanks for sharing.

This very well written poem portrays the feelings that I often feel myself. Very depressing at times. Thanks for sharing Jaybird. All the best. Stay safe. Jen.

This is a sad, heart warming, and good poem and life's struggles and growing older. I like you author notes about keeping strong and still writing. Your poem brings a lot of emotion especially when you talk about friends who have long passed. Keep writing and take care.

I can tell that these words came from experience, so as a relatively young person, this gives a new look at my life. The rhythm of your poem reflects the message you are trying to send. I wish you the best of luck! :)

Congratulations on living for 95 years, especially in this age of Corona. Yes, the older we get, the more we reflect on our lives and put emphasis on the important things.
'I yearn much for my friends of youth' Although I'm not nearly your age, I found this line very relatable. Stay safe. Hugs, Lou

Yes, each day brings us closer to the end. It seems like everything is coliding to make it sooner for some, with COVID and the riots over George Floyd's death.
Keep writing and stay safe and healthy.

I so relate to many of your emotions in this powerful poem, although I am a spring chicken compared to you. I feel less care for wealth or gold but I am boosted by memories of family and friends now departed. I count my blessings daily.
