We do have a mountain range here, west of Sydney, called the blue mountains Jim. A beautifully composed quatern poem, Jim, the classic moves in a graduated way through the poem perfectly, so well done, an excellent post, blessings, Roy

Good description of the Blue Ridge mountains (I know! I said it but then so did John Denver. Lol) It is definitely a stunning sight!
One comment:
"atop western NC mountains." (Is NC for North Carolina? I think it would be better to write out the state name as other reviewers not from the US may not know how to read NC.)

Thanks, I will make a footnote in the author's notes section. Due to the restriction of eight syllables per stanza, I had to reluctantly use abbreviations- thanks, as always, for your clear insight.

What a beautiful picture and beautiful poem. Those mountains certainly do cause time to slow down to a calmer pace. And they fill me with awe, even with a mere photograph. I am blessed to have a photograph I took while lolling in my bubble bath in a lodge at the top of one of those mountains. Precious memory.

This assignment for the Quatern poem for the challenge event looks very complicated, but you managed to write a very good and original poem. Uou have very good observations, but the line that blew me away is "your mind's eye sees smokey terrain..."

How could I not love this. My favorite mountains in the world. They never lose their charm or calling. Fall is intoxicating.
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the challenge,
Sal xo

-Very nice image, JLR.
-You have written a good
poem with very good imagery.
-A good repeating line.
-Good examples of the types
of trees one would find on the Blue Ridge.
-A good concluding verse and
overall peaceful mood to the poem.
-You did a good job with the form, too.

Pam I rescued this thanks for the input I over thought the format, ugh...

You are welcome. I changed the review for you. I thought about your first line when I just went over it. What about: A soul need not say mountains

I've seen them several times, and it's a beautiful place. You're very lucky to have such a view all the time.

You have great imagery throughout this poem. "Hear God's whisper" is a lovely phrase.

Well done!

Thank you for being so gracious about my comments. We all do that sometimes, overthink it. I'm famous for getting something wrong most every time. lol

That is a lovely picture to go with a descriptive poem. These mountains are blessed to have a number of various kinds of forest trees.

I think this poem has really good imagery. When I say that I mean you can totally see everything you are talking about. In my brain even if there wasn't a picture I would totally be able to see beautiful mountains still. I did not see anything that needs fixing because honestly I think its a really strong poem.

God is artistic! And I love the name 'Blue Ridge'. The picture for the poem is beautiful, the poem itself flows well. I really love the beginning line. Great poem!
