This excellent poem is scary good. Good and deep. It is a cold hard slap across the face to those still asleep. I get it, many, unfortunately will not. The majority of people are so caught up in their daily lives that they never see what is plainly before their unsuspecting eyes. For example, how could it be that out of all the people who say Noah building this massive boat, just think that this old man and his sons were crazy. For all the years it took to build it. Nobody is that crazy, consistently. Come on now.

This is a wonderful rhyming poem for the contest. I have read many poems so far and this one really sticks in my mind the most. I enjoyed the water references and "That lifeline thrown just out of reach" is an awesome line! this poem flows so nicely. Love it! -January L.

This is a such a well-written and thought provoking poem. The progression of the rising water keeps the reader on the edge, knowing that eventually the waters will rise too high to be safe. The meaning you impart is dark and sincere. Good luck in the contest.

I like this deep poem. Your short and rhyming lines are penetrating; sometimes it felt like a sword... There is lots of raw passion in here. I admire writers who leave it all on the line.

I find judging my own work objectively very difficult. I desperately don't want to post garbage here so I always hold my breath for the first few reviews. This six early on helped alleviate that anxiety. For this, I extend to you, my deepest gratitude. Thank you.
