Fits the count of 1-6-1 and a very pointed statement about the gore and glory of bullfighting. How strange that we humans want to see such things. I doubt that the bulls care about being spectators, but they might like the roar.

I personally am not a fan ..the Spanish consisder it part of their
culture ..a tradition ..to me it is as bad as those who go hunting for sport.
In Messico bullfights are not to the death and in Spian if the bull shows extreme courage it finishes its days in green pastures.
Once in awhile the bull has the upper hand and for the matador its a scrutinating death ...
thank you for thaking the time to review my entry .

PS . ...the ....roars .....are referring to the public cheering on the matador but then there is a fatal twist.....( wink)

This is an excellent 1-6-1 rhyme. Good rhymes and metre. It moves away from the sentimental into something much darker and more unpleasant - at least in my eyes. Judging from its popularity, I think Spaniards see it as entertainment.

Once in awhile, the bull has the upper hand ...the horns are full of germs and the matador's death is excrutiating.
..if the bull demostrates courage at times his life is spared and he can live his days in the fields.
The Spanish see it as part of their traditions, their culture ..I find it blood thirst event just like any sport that involves killing an animal for sport/pleasure.
Thank you for the postive review !
Ciao!

You did a great job of writing a 1-6-1. Your rhymes are perfect. I saw a
bullfight once and that was enough. It was so violent and gory. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for the postive response.
My parents lived in Spain for 16 years and I came to visit every year from Italy ..I had the opportunity but I find it a blood thirsty event so I never dreamt to go see one...hunting for sport/ pleasure is not any better...
....once in a blue moon the bull has the upper hand, like in my wee poem.
