Hi Alicia. I'm just popping in to see what's going on here on FanStory. This is a lovely poem with haiku. I like all of it, but especially the haiku. Images to accompany make for a stunning presentation. Marilyn

Hello my friend, thank you for sharing this flowery poem, so full of fragrant verses; nice alliteration with perfect picture. You mentioned Eid in your notes, just curious.....how did you know about Ramadan? And you spelled Ramadan correctly, some spell it Ramzan and I learned that only after I moved to U.S from India. You take care my friend.

Hi Ameen! My mother was born Muslim. My father was born to a Christian mother and a non-religious India father. Both my parents were born in the Caribbean, but moved, married and had children in the USA. I'm non-religious but observant to all holidays. I was raised just to celebrate the Eids.

That I know about Ramzan is a name. It means River. I'm not sure how I know that... I don't speak arabic outside of salutations, however, I say in English mostly.

Much blessings to you for the year ahead. Peace be upon you.

Thank you for the review and stuff :)

I am so pleased your purchase of fresh lilies inspired you to share their beauty with us. Your use of alliteration and the pictures accent your work perfectly. Have a peaceful end of Ramadan and Memorial Day- Joan

A very well-written poem and haiku about the beautiful lilies that are clothed in the most delicate petals always attract a lot of attention everywhere where they are growing in the fields.

Hi Sandra! They're growing on my kitchen table. Harvest lilies from the florist at the grocery store. I would like see a field of lilies. That would be nice. It's not common that way here. Thank you. Have a great week :)

Oh, I really like this!!
It's just beautiful, especially
the last line 'Sincere devotion.'
I love lilies too. I always associate
them with church and Easter also.
Ours are Tiger Lilies though, yellow
and orange and won't bloom til July.
Then I have pink lilies that bloom
in august. Really strange looking...
I found out they come from Asia.
My brother-in-law gave them to me,
I don't know how he could have gotten
them in West Virginia. He's been growing
them for years!
Wonderful Miss Alicia,
blessings, be safe!

I only see them during Spring and Fall in bouquets or grocery stores. Planting them at the house must look nice. You're nephew is lucky. Hugs :)

    Happy Memorial Day

I think nature is a marvellous thing, and particularly flowers come across as a spark and symbol of some memory or a consequence of something important in one's life. Beautifully written Alicia, I like this, blessings, Roy

Your poem describes the lily well, giving a taste of its appealing sensual allure. We have several different types that grow in our garden. Always such a glorious sight when they push their way up out of the ground and burst into flower.

That sounds like a nice garden. I only see them at grocery stores or floral deliveries. You're nice. Thank you :)

So this is like a haibun? I really liked your ending haiku and this line " Creamy with cardamom." It magically describes the fragrance so that you don't need the line before or the two lines afterwards.
Blessings on your weekend, too!!

Hi Helen! I started writing a haiku. Then made it like a greeting card, one full thought per line, but it's a poem about lilies. It smelly milky like chai tea to me (cardomom spice in milk tea). Some claim the scent to be cloves. I appreciate your edit notes. Thank you.

    Happy Memorial Day :)

You make the lilies sound like food. I think it's the 'natural goodness' line. This is a good poem as far as the flow, but not sure about that aspect.

Hi! I was thinking "natural goodness" as in a purity gifted from God. Okay, thank you. Happy Memorial Day :)
