Firstly, congratulations on winning the Sonnet Contest. Very nice to win that for sure.
When I read this poem. I think of a daughter, or granddaughter. Saving our loved ones from our mistakes doesn't seem to work nowadays! I hope your princess is safe!

She's turned into a wonderful person again after the inevitable teenage metamorphosis!

Hello Tony,
This is a difficult poem to review, as it leaves much open to interpretation.
It could be very personal, saving someone from themselves, perhaps from
the temptations of this world.
In Grimm's story, the man steals the garden vegetable which leads to
dire consequences for Rapunzel, perhaps those are the "mistakes I made."
I suspect there is more to the poem that is revealed.

Hello Tony,
