This Day 20, two-hundred and fifty word story, All Disquiet in Peaceful Privacy, has the required line and word count and renders a bleak future for this lady and Sam Sam the Dead Man.

This was an interesting story. All alone and quiet with no one to bother you. Except, maybe Sam, if he ever gets up. Who is Sam anyway? He stopped eating so you didn't have to share the cat you caught yesterday.

Sam is the dead partner. How did he die? Not telling. More dinner for me.

Oi! What a twist ending! Man, that was Goooooooood. :)
So, I" wondering what happened to Sam. I'm a little concerned for him. I think the narrator has gone around the proverbial bend. lol

Be prepared for a Lockdown

Hello my friend

I love your flash fiction entry for the Day 20 writing prompt contest. It's pretty funny. I love the ending. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

You are not the only one to suffer a shock to your system. People just do not know how to be isolated under rules meant for their own protection. Everyone is between a rock and a hard place.

It's not like we got to practice at how to behave or react. A lot of people just don't know how to live cooperatively.

Quite a horror story that lives you with a lot of question. Is this a cat or another person who is feeding on other people? "
I just noticed a strange woman in the bathroom mirror. I don't trust her. This morning, that look in her eyes when I caught sight of her reminded me of the feral cat I cornered in the wood shed yesterday.

See? The Lord DID provide."
Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest

Thanks for your review. I left it ambiguous on purpose so readers could try and work it out.
My plot in the story is about a woman whose partner (Sam) has died and is still lying in bed. The woman is going mad and has stopped doing routine things. She catches sight of herself in the mirror and doesn't recognise herself. She is running out of food and prays that the Lord will provide some. One day she catches a cat - we can assume she eats it, thinking the Lord put it there for her.

This is a very spooky story. I keep thinking of the movie, Legend, with Will Smith lol. I liked the end as it keeps me guessing. I used to laugh stories like this off but now I'm not too sure. Only joking. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing. Stay safe.

My oh my. I very dramatic take on a few weeks of vacation and channel surfing. Nicely exaggerated. I particularly like the comparison with zombie films and making up the words . . . hearing voices.
Feral cat souffle. Yummy.

Best of luck.

Peace, Lee

It sounds as though lockdown is very much to the taste of cats, and I must say that I tend to agree with them. Nice touches of humour in this to keep your readers' interest. Approaching teatime here so I'd better start praying. Ginger biscuits, I think, and Earl Grey tea.
