I love this metaphore: Each day that dawns is but the thief of dreams,
It's quantum baby, pure quantum.
Who are the moths?
I like a good poet poem, always takes me back to my favourite:
Lonely as a clown, in clouds of smoke
nothing makes sense, not even moths.
Just making fun of wordsworth.
so today I gave a six to two of my favourite poets.
what a delightful pleasure.

Splendid sonnet, Tony. You have done some poetic weaving here yourself, inserting familiar words from Coleridge's masterpiece - I hope you weren't as high as he was when you wrote this - and that you weren't rudely interrupted as he apparently was.
I also liked the sustained imagery of weaving/patchwork - can't be pedantic enough to say that those are mixed metaphors!
I think that poems which deal in any way with the art of writing often do well in contests, so you should have a great chance with this - I haven's seen one better yet - except my own, of course!

As long as those aren't picked up by the contest committee, I'm hoping to give you a good run for your money. Unrequited love is the general run of the mill. Your sonnet about requited and regretted love is a nice change. Good luck to you, too.

The tapestry is an excellent metaphor for the poet and how he weaves ideas from threads he rescues from his dreams. Love the tribute to the fantasy worlds of Kabila Khan and Xanadu that your unweave into your tapestry.

This is a beautifully worded sonnet. The artwork is an amazing accompaniment to the work. Several lines struck me as being written is such an artful fashion as to be reminiscent of the poets of old. "A patchwork made of fragments from their brains." - Just lovely. Good luck in the contest.
