And will we be able to prepare our children for their future? We do need to engage them in conversation as we learn from problems so they can gain some skills. Good thoughts in your poem!

Hi, Kahpot.
You have written a nice 5-7-5 poem I have read a few times. To me, the message is complex; when you mentioned future's past, I think of the grandfather's paradox and go off on other tangents. Anyway, I finally get the meaning of your poem. Children will learn from the legacy others before them have made. Intriguing photo. This poem is very contest worthy. Good luck, Cindy

Yes an interesting reflection on our childrens' legacy, so to speak - especially now in light of the state of the world at present, so to speak, thanks for sharing

I love this poem. You are a very unique writer. It is true our children learn from the past mistake of their parents . That is how they grow as individuals. Thanks for sharing with us.

The past is really in the future because no matter how hard many of the try, the past repeats itself. Just with different names of leaders, persecutors, victims, and weapons of harm. One thing that hopefully remains the same is our ability to raise our head in honor of the creator, whatever the label might be.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the question of what will we leave behind for our children or will they only learn from books what they could have.

This is a wonderful poem. The 575 usually doesn't do much for me, because there are not enough words to tell a whole story. However, this poem says so much. It's so truthful and telling. I really like this very much. -January L.

I hope you're right, sometimes it feels we never learn, but there is always hope in the next generation. You express this idea well and I think it works well in this short form
