will benefit and many other children as well.
Including a poem and fun facts makes this a must
have book. If you go public I will buy a copy for our
granddaughter.
I learned more about Hippo's from this reading
than I had previous knowledge of.

They are amazing animals that are very strong and dangerous when provoked. I didn't know that they lived together in such large groups. I know that like the elephant, predators don't have much of a chance getting to their young with such a formidable group around them. I'm enjoying these informative and well written offerings that you share with us here. Great job and well done!

Great writing! I did not know that people ate Hippopotamuses or that they had ivory teeth. I think I learn more from your postings which is a good thing.

I didn't know they ate hippos, either, and really don't want to try it, either. And the ivory teeth, that was a big surprise, and we know from the elephants and rhinos how man will mutilate them for the ivory. Those men should be shot. Tell Graham I think this is his best picture so far. He does a good job. Wow, You told me a lot about the Hippo I didn't know. I never cared to know. I knew they were huge but I never knew how huge. My word they are enormous. Well done Sandra. Nancy:)

The six is not the important thing, Chuck, it's that you read it that made me smile. They are related to the pig, so that is why they remind you of the 'oversized hog', lol. I just wish people would respect that they are God's creatures and stop killing them for the ivory in their teeth. What terrible animals some people are. This is a well-written, very educational piece. I learned a lot today. I knew they were huge but not that big, wow. I didn't realize they spent so much time in water either. I didn't realize their gestation period is as long as an elephant's. Makes sense though. Nicely done as always.

I didn't know they are disappearing from Africa. That would really be a shame. The hippo really defies nature due to its size. You wouldn't think they could do all they do with their size. Great job. Shirley
