Wow! Are always pencils' lifetime only seven beautifully written stanzaic, perfectly rhymed, flowing format, ballad narrated, story lined structural contents? Chapeau Poetess!

The author's words are inspiring, interesting and creative. I pondered
on the theme of this poem and thought about how change can be
an improvement. Even though the #2 pencil has it's benefits. Thank you
for the author's notes. The artwork is great!. Have a great day!

I have never talked about the life of a pencil in much detail, but your poem definitely opened my eyes to it. I really don't think those mechanical pencils are much good, they snap very easily!

Interesting choice for this poem. Definitely defines the pencil's life and leaves a lingering acceptance to the new mechanical pencil without grief and loss. I like that the writer likes the vintage way to sharpen a pencil, but accepts the new way of life. Thanks and goodluck, C.

I can relate, Raff. You, like me, are old school. As my great grandchildren would put it, "Papa, you are so old-fashioned. I believe the mechanical name for the Pencil's replacement was named "Eversharp." Ballpoint pens were not invented yet when I was in high
school. I'm already out of six stars. Thanks for reminding me how old I am, ha! ha!

Nothing is more old school than pencils and the old fashioned pencil sharpeners! I actually prefer them and the old pinkish pencil erasers. Kids back then liked grinding the pencils sharp too. Oh, those good old days...

I do like the new mechanical pencils, but admit once in a while a get out one of the old yellow ones. I used to love sharpening them. We still have a pencil sharpener hanging on the wall, but it rarely sees any use.
Best of luck in the contest.

This poem, The Life of a Pencil, fits the challenge well and recalls the fundamental qualities of the number two, wood and graphite cursive creator.

Hello,
I pray you and your family are well during this pandemic. I like your poem,
"Life of a pencil." You used a great photo to reflect your message. It is very bold and bright. Thank you for the history of the lead pencil versus the mechanical one. Your poem's message is very clear. I'm an old school gale and I still like the old number 2 pencil. I have used the mechanical one, yet I thought it broke faster than the other one. Your poem is very humorous and written in a nice structure. Also, I like how you made your words rhyme. This is a very funny story about the life of a pencil. Well-done. Good luck in the contest. Well-done. Happy writing in the future:-)
