An acrostic poem, reflecting about the eternal changes of life; well done. I especially like the lines from the last "D in whispered through Winds" I think they were the most poignant. Also the closing lines I thought were a really good summation. Steve

-Stunning artwork and
very nice presentation, Yvette.
-This is a very well written
acrostic with vivid imagery
that paints a picture of
the cycle of life.
-In the beginning we are
young and innocent with
imaginations soaring:
"Heroes and halos could all save the day."
-I like how you use the sunset
to show how life changes as we age.
-A very good concluding verse, too.
-A very good entry; good luck in the contest.

What a creative outlet this masterpiece is for a math teacher! Maybe it's the rocket scientist coming out, riding on that wind of change, grabbing hold of tomorrow and reaching for that star, knowing it does not have to be "An Impossible Dream."

Yvette, this is beautiful. I did have to look up the word "teem." I don't believe I have ever heard it before. My day has been worthwhile,
I learnt' something.

Thanx so much, Willie, for your wonderful comments and for those shining stars - I do so enjoy your reviews, sir!! ;) Oh, and that crazy word? Believe it or not, it was one of my dad's favorite words to describe the rain: "Damn rain's just teemin' out there!" :) :) :) Funny, the things that stick with us, huh? I was just a bit on the 'reminiscent' side this weekend, I suppose, and this was my muse reflecting that! ;) :) You be sure to enjoy some sun on your face, sir, and have a great week!! ;) Yvette

Very ambitious undertaking--well-done. I love the line...heroes and halos could all save the day--alas, I never grew out of that phase! Good closer Eternity whispers. Cheers. LIZ

Guess I am in a nostalgic mood, because this sounds very well-written from beginning to end. Strong lines include: Softly youth's dreams remind we're in arrears
and
Hauntingly we reflect back through our life
And pray we find there our own wind of change:
I like the 's' alliteration and also 's/z' consonance in: So many summers and years slipped away
Nice post.

A brilliant acrostic poem, masterfully crafted!
I love that you have managed to incorporate a consistent rhyme scheme in to this rather difficult form and make your base phrase so long.
Well done!
