Hi Sandra, another of your alphabet animals. Written for children with interest for adults. I look forward to reading your choice for each letter. Gorillas are my favourite animal at the Gerald Durrel wildlife park just down the road from us in Jersey. You may remember Yambo who made the news after he looked after a young boy who fell unconscious into their enclosure. Yambo died some time ago and a statue was made of him which stands in the park. A great poem without any flaws. Keep safe. ~Mel~xx

Yes, I remember that with the little boy, vividly. Gorillas do have nice natures, and only get angry when they feel threatened or their troup are in danger.
Thank you so much for the six stars, Mel, and the lovely review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this one and will be back for more. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

For a school project, my son watched live feed from a zoo - he watched gorillas and elephants. He watched them early morning, right when he got home from school and then after dinner. It was fascinating - we actually got to "know" a few and were able to recognize them. You might want to look into a live feed at a zoo. Here is one father's list of the "best ones" https://www.fatherly.com/play/activities/zoo-live-stream-aquarium-live-stream-kids/ I adore that you are doing this for your grandson. What a treasure this will be. Can't find fault.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on letter G. I like it when schools have projects like the one your son had, it is far better to learn about animals that way. I'll have a look at that link, thanks, Margaret. I'll probably spend the day watching it, too. I loved a series called Serengeti National Park, I was hooked on that one. How is your family's murder mystery film coming along? Have all the night shots been done now? Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

All the night shots and just one more entryway scene. I'm sure it will take my daughter-in-law a few weeks to edit. Then my house can be put back together (they moved so much into the garage and lower level for the "sets" !

LOL, what mums have to do for their children. But it will be worth it in the end. :))

What an excellent undertaking. This is the sort of book many parents will enjoy reading to their children and find they are learning as they go along as well. I am njoyed yur well written poem and what a bonus to read the notes and learn more about gorillas.

Wonderful!!
6 stars for your husbands artwork too!
I loved every word, and found it quite
informative, and entertaining for a child...
or adult.
I watched 'Gorilla's in the Mist' once, loved
it, but never again...it made me too sad.
Blessings...

Aww, thank you, Irish, that is so nice of you. I told Graham he got a 6, too! lol. I'm not sure if I've seen that film, I'm going to check it out. I find it incredibly sad that they are an endangered species now. Why can't people leave them alone to live their own lives like we do? Thanks for this lovely review, my friend, have a lovely day. :)) Sandra xx

A wonderful chapter for your Grandson. I love Gorilla's because they are such smart creatures. They would have had to be to raise Tarzan! :) Have a great evening. Shirley

Thank you so much, Shirley for reading my letter G. I think they are amazing creatures, I just wish those who go hunting them would leave them alone. I'm glad you enjoyed reading this one. Thanks! :)) Sandra xx

Thank you for the great information. I like how you kept the tone very accessible to children even as you bring up important issues about the risk of extinction of these beautiful animals! Great presentation with the pictures embedded in the text!

Thank you, Helen! That is so nice of you. I can understand your feeling sad, when I read that they are close to extinction I was as well. Why? Why do people set out to harm our beautiful creatures. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Your selection of the gorilla was a great choice, Sandra. I have read of the 'things' you mentioned in your fun facts. Your poem was fun to read with factual info presented in a way that kids will enjoyed (and big kids like us). Your pictures are great. I like the way your intersperse them with the text. Your husband's art is great for a children's picture book. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you, Janice, for reading my letter G, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. I learnt so much, and a lot more that I didn't think appropriate for children. Perhaps I'll write a grown-ups ABC book! Stay safe and well! :)) Sandra xx

An excellent choice for the letter G. Gorillas are amazing. We can learn so much from them about society. We should pay more attention. Thank you for sharing. What will H be?
