Pictures without names is the down fall for memories of nameless pictures of the past. Names date and times need to be recorded.

This is such a wonderful offering to which, I'm sure, many of us can relate!! ;) So many pictures that we kept to help 'remember' but we didn't label them - love your free verse on this topic, Jose. I think you've given it more of a romantic feel than the frustration we sometimes feel which is a great thing!! ;) :) Oh, and that's a great 'surprise' pic of your sister! ;) Thanx so much for sharing, sir!! ;) Yvette

A beautiful picture of a beautiful person, I am sure and a wonderful tribute to your sister, Jose. This was super well done and I agree that it is important to name and date photos and even add where it was taken. Do you have any other relatives who could identify some of the pictures? Or when you get settled, you can scan them and search? Just some ideas. Be safe, be well.

She is so beautiful. I agree, our children and grandchildren will not know many of our collections as we have them tucked away or framed. I have very few of myself, eight total from my childhood. My mother didn't want to document our sad years I think. Still, I have restored and dated them. I keep my family's ancestry. I have traced my Dupree line to the 1600s. Sending you my best today as always,
Sally xo

This is so true, we all have old photos tucked away in albums of other generations -time stops
as memories fade - this closing line is vey apt. This is a good topic choice for this challenge. I wondered if -an another- would be better as - and another- Nicely done,
cheers.

This is a very nice poem, very personal but easy and lovely to read. Writing a poem is good way to remember someone , I'm sure she'd appreciate it. Thanks for sharing

I really liked the scattered leaves metaphor for memories. I think this was a solid poem with some good imagery. Keep up the good writing. Good luck with this one. I did like it.

This is truly sentimental and it brings a tear to my eye. It is written beautifully. Through your writing you helped me to realize that pictures are reminders of memories you may have forgotten you had.

You are right about labeling pictures for future generation. Time does stop and no one then is sure who/what/where those beautiful memories were taken--even though you still have the love for the ones in the picture. Your free verse flows well with a great response to the prompt. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

What a poignant poem! I like the onomatopeia of the leaves in the wind, as well as the simile used throughout the poem. It is like a reminder to stop and take it all in.
