This historical archaeological piece must be of considerable scientific interest as well appealing to those with literary interests. The manner of her death is quite sad really, but it sheds important light on the culture of eight millennia past.

you must be congratulated on some really creative triple rhyming in the penultimate septet, america/esoterica/replica would not not spring easily to the minds of most of us.

Thank you Jim. I was rather pleased with that series of rhymes myself.
    So glad you noticed.

This is a very intriguing and at the same time dramatic story. Your pen brings this lady to life, and in my case, to admire. You write a very good account of what might have been her life. Intriguing, beautiful.

A fascinating bit of history. I watched ALL 20 years of Time Team recently and the digs and archeology fascinated me. There are few spots in this poem that you struggle making the meter fit in... but it does work and it was mighty difficult! I enjoyed this history lesson in poetry form. My hat is off to you - I really have no cons as this took lots of talent.

You had me at hello. I just love regional American history. What a great poem! You've crammed so much information into a small space, and yet, I didn't feel overwhelmed by it. You handled the rhyme and meter very well
I would love to see this written as free verse, however - not a criticism, just a suggestion. I think you have more than enough sensitivity to sound to make it work. I myself write rhyming verse, but I find that a freer form is - well - freer. Anyway, love this just as it is.

Thank you Mary Furlong. Free Verse is good, but I think we are losing the art of rhyme and alliteration. Having said, that, my next poem is actually a Free Verse.

This is creatively written and works well in the form you've chosen, the rhyme scheme is interesting and works well. I learnt a lot from it as well and enjoyed learning about the bones.

A very well-written heartfelt and interesting historical story/poem in Septets about the remains of a woman who died eight thousand years ago with evidence that there were an ocean then where there is dry land now.

Thank you for sharing the story of the 8,000-year-old-woman's bones and adding the photo to your series of vivid septets. The accessories and marine evidence were especially fascinating. Cheers- Joan
