Yes, you are right. There are many things we can do. It it irks me that people complain that they are bored, depressed, et. when there are so many things to do--even if one hasn't done them before as your character experienced. Your contest entry reads well with good dialogue and imagery. Thanks for sharing and best wishes.

What a sweet kind story! The young man seems to be of the same nature as the older woman. He is polite and helpful. In this day and age little acts like this have so much meaning. Great story!

Hmm. pondering this flash story, I'm left wondering if this is the boss's mother and he doesn't want to visit her but feels an obligation toward her. I feel the old lady's loneliness... Maybe instead of saying "this address" actually give us a street address?
