Poet is not sure who will be the next president of the US, from which party, and whose promise would be real, or who would be the most fit person for the office and who would be most trustworthy official; well said, well done; enjoyed the read; thanks for sharing this; keep posting. ALCREATOR

This poem, Politics, brings in all the current conflagration which represents the burning down of democracy and the insertion of an autocracy.

A very well-written poem about the politician promises that we cannot believe unless they can proof they can do what the promise and not only to get votes and then saying their promises cannot be done.

"Politics can be a crazy game." The first line tells it all. Crazy and Game. The competition ego makes me wonder whether or not any politician cares for We The People any more. Thanks for the poem. Best regards.

Donna,
This was a very cool post and I totally agree with your closing line. hahaha But I have to tell you when I saw the title of your post, I wondered how many people will CHOOSE to click on it to read the post. (Not seeing your name attached.) Nobody likes politics, do they? Event the word almost makes us cringe!
This was interesting and creative, though. Very enjoyable. Thank you!

DoveMarie, that's it exactly! A rat race for power. I noticed that the same happens in all the democratic countries where presidents and parliaments are chosen, that before the elections all the speeches hold beautiful sounding ideas and promises. After the elections, when finally the most-voted-for has gained the power, nothing of the promises is held. It doesn't give me much faith in politicians or political systems.
The poem is good, very good. Bravo
