I found this an unusual poem in its set out and brevity of lines...it suited the emotional tone of the poem. A nostalgic mood pervades the poem. I know as a parent I have at times wished to have that time again...that wonderful time when my children were small, My only regret - I didn't appreciate that time as much as I could have. I think you did. The spirit of childhood is caught in the ease with which your daughter giggles and plays and paints. I know the last verse is significant but am unable to grasp the full meaning and, forgiving my ignorance, would you be so kind as to explain. The name Daddio is endearing and adds to the poems appeal.
you as a father had for your daughter.

Hello Victortouche,
Your poem is a lovely memory of your daughter's playtime with her father. The imagery, the pillowcase is so wonderful as a keepsake for a lifetime. I love the rainbow. Any father, I think, would be lovelily impressed of his daughter's fun time and carefree words. This is a lovely reminiscent of precious time with your daughter. Well done. Thanks for the memories of things we all probably have when our children were that age. I can see your memories are etched in stone of that day. Thanks for sharing. Happy writing:-)

Hello victortouche
Your poem about you daughter is beautiful
You could be right about when a child is very young they don't recall of the things they do. Smiles to your last verse

Well thought and written throughout its daddy's worrying educational narrative storylined content. Nowadays parents have lost their educational methods due to the fact of children's full emersion in Internet and video games. There is no conversation at table as T.V. Is on, they speak among themselves about the next video games steps as they eat. I being a grandfather, l am old fashion so simply familiar conversations are so rare. Great work!

Love this! OH my but don't they leave lasting footprints right in our hearts that stay forever? Time flies by and yet we have these sweet treasures to look back on and remember when all that mattered in life was your love for her, her love for you, some sunshine and a spry imagination!--Karenina

Hello my friend
Beautiful poem about the joy of childhood. It's so wonderful to live in the moment and enjoy the little simple things in life. I like the presentation too. Well done my friend.

I can relate to this. I have most all of the artwork my five kids drew and it brings back memories. Kids are really creative, I love seeing what they come up with. Thanks for Sharing.

-Thanks for sharing
the photo and note
about it, Doug.
-Things like that bring
back such loving memories.
-That is really good art, too.
-Did she follow up with it
later one?
-Your lines in the note make
a good poem, too!
-I bet she remembers it, as well.
-A good poem with effective imagery
and full of love for your daughter.
-Have a great Sunday!

This is wonderful. Yes, as parents we remember it ALL. This definitely conveys the love of your little one and precious moments shared in her creativity. YOUR creativity is encapsulated within this piece as you share with us your memories and love as a father. It is quite lovely. Great job with this.

That was so sweet! When our young children do something that is so precious we don't want to change it, ever, then we are learning, too. I thought your poem, littered with such gorgeous imagery of what your young daughter had done, oozed with your love and pride. It was absolutely wonderful. Well done, and well done to your daughter, too. :)) Sandra xxx
