Hi Jesse, what an uplifting poem of perseverance! I really liked the rhyme at the end with an assonance of nary a care. Very cool write and any poem that incorporates Yiddish is a plus (chutzpah is great). Keep working it out.

Thank you for this positive and supportive review. This poem is in response to the other poem you reviewed. I don't always feel this assertive in regards to the neighbors, but more often than not, I do. Thank you for the kind comments and for pointing out the parts you liked best. Both of these reviews are very appreciated. You have brightened this day and I am grateful.
    Take care,
    Jesse

Sorry I missed this, Jesse. Sickness and other difficulties have kept me from reviewing as much. Please know, I have kept you in my prayers. Another beautiful poem, I see. It does my soul good to read this and I found it so encouraging. Thank you so much! Have a wonderful week!
Sending you my best today as always,

Thank you, Sally, for this supportive review. What a nice surprise to find a review posted on my screen today. I am sorry you've had sickness and difficulties. I admit I can relate to having difficulties, myself lately. I, too, only review on occasion, yet I'm always glad when I find a post that speaks to me and helps me grow. Thank you for your kind comments. Have a great weekend!

Like you Jesse I'm trying to overcome and work out my/our survival, which seems to be growing harder every day. Much due of curse, to the Corona regulations that are in place. Essentials which I see far too many flouting and thinking themselves so damned smart, they have nothing to worry about! Vision, like you, being my greatest hurdle to overcome. Pauline and I did manage to take a walk around our garden yesterday. A lovely day and very much welcomed. 17C and very light winds under sunny skies. First truly enjoyable day this year! Rain today but I shall not be concerned unless, as it's said, could turn to snow - short-lived - later! We haven't left our confines for over a week again and doubt we have need to go anywhere for another week. Weather again will make that week enjoyable or a penance! Have no inclination to compose or do much inside when the sun shines like yesterday. Have in fact been taking out much of my poetry, posted here on Fan Story. I am tired of this site asking me for money every time I post a poem. If that's the way I have to present my poetry before readers? Then Goodbye Fan Story! Not alone in my thinking, as I have found out.. A shame for there are some good people such as yourself, I have already met, I shall miss, but I am sick and tired of the constant money grabbing ways someone, seems to think we should pay out! It's not that I cannot afford it, but it offends my every principle. Added to which is the obvious advertising from which revenue is received. I call it Greed and nothing more! To keep me occupied during this lock-down period - with which I fully agree - I have been doing a little house cleaning of my computers and the many files therein. Amazing how many poems and essays I've written - some of which I intend to collect as part of my Memoirs. The Sixth volume, for me children when finished. Leave it there for now. Rain has started to fall, and I have much to do in my computer room. Take care and stay safe. Fondest regards. It's great to know yu. Denis.

    Hello Denis.
I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I'm also sorry to see you go. Although I understand completely why you are leaving/have left. I would like to continue communicating on email, as I consider you a friend worth keeping. I am glad this experience hasn't soured you on writing. Thank you for this honest and compelling review.
    Take care, my friend,
    Jesse

I appreciated your positive attitude, especially during these trying times. I admired your "perseverance" as accented by your rhymed couplets. Here's to "intensified drive"! Be strong- Joan

    Hello Joan.
Thank you for this marvelous review. You use your words sparingly yet say so much with them. Sorry for the delay in responding. I hope you will understand. Things are tough all over and I know I am not the only one who is suffering but, it's easy to get into that lonely place in my head. I will heed your apt advice and "be strong." Thanks again, for this positive review.
    Take care,
    Jesse

Thank you for taking the time and energy to respond. Try to keep your spirits up--the only thing that helps me is taking a half-hour walk each day. My thoughts are with you- Joan

I appreciate that you understand. My knees have difficulty holding me up. Plus, my balance is off, due to vertigo. I take walks when I can and exercise sitting down, as well, especially when I am unable to walk very far. Thank you for allowing your thoughts to be with me. That means a lot to me.

I can understand on a personal level, since I have Peripheral Neuropathy and use a cane or a walker on my walks. My condition is not complicated by vertigo, and hope you can continue to do exercises sitting down, which I also do twice a day. Here's to continuing the good fight! -Joan

It feels good to know we share using a walker in common.
Yes! Let's keep fighting the good fight! Every step is worth it!
    Take care,

Yes! Positivity takes us a long way. You have long held this strength within you and (like many of us) you've doubted the potency of such a proclamation! Love it all, but my favorite is: "Secure perseverance will test
my patience, and finite finesse." SO fitting for each of us as we experience this pandemic and the "new normal" that is not normal at all. Whatever started this journey toward new confidence and awareness--hurrah! You are a true inspiration.--Karenina

Hi Karenina. Sorry for the delay in responding - things are not as easy as they appear in my poem. But, that being said, I will persevere and continue with my survival techniques for as long as necessary. Thank you for pointing out the line which spoke to you the most. It helps to know what resonates with people. I appreciate your positive commentary and kind words. Especially that I am a "true inspiration." Hurrah, indeed. Your comments and opinions mean a lot to me. I always look forward to your reviews, which are 'spot on' and right on target. Thanks, again for your uplifting boost to my confidence with this stellar review.
Have a great rest of your week.

    Hello Karenina.
Some steps are more difficult than others. This one's a doozy. It feels good to know that I inspire you, and that you look forward to my newest posts. I look forward to your reviews of my work, as well.
    Take care,
    Jesse

Yup. I agree. It's less like a marble stairway...and much more like a rocky path! Still...if we're making the journey we are making progress!--Karenina

One step forward, two steps back. At times, it feels like I'm scaling a mountain cliff, without any harness or other life saving device. The journey is steep and treacherous, as of late. But, or rather, yet, I am still making slow progress. Patience and perseverance is required always.
    Take care,
    Jesse

This poem, Working It Out, presented in rhyming couplets, seems to take a light turn through the power to procrastinate with authority.

Your concise couplet poem is well-written and inspirational. It conveys a powerful message about doing our BEST, while facing the fact that our abilities are not infinite. This reminds me of a song entitled "Brighten the Corner Where You Are."

Thank you, Janice, for your kind and thoughtful review. Sorry for the delay in responding, It by no means reflects my feelings toward your wonderful uplifting comments and very kind words. I haven't heard of the song you referred to but, it reminds me of the song, "On the street where you live," which is a lovely tune from a musical a long ago. I am very glad you find my poem inspirational. That is high praise indeed. Thanks for this excellent review and rating.
Have a good rest of your week.

Very cleverly done using the weakness to enhance and for the strength to beam. An interesting combination of words to bring a message of your perserverance and ours, too.
