In only the fifty words allowed, you have told a moving, charming little story about the "runt of the litter"-so to speak. Maybe narrator flower will get a big gulp tomorrow. (Check spelling of that word above.)

It doesn't take a lot of moisture to make them lift their heads but it doesn't take much heat and dryness to make them droop. I have a Peace Lily that does that to me ever so often. It almost feels like it is pleading for drink. Nice dribble fiction.

I like the way you've personified the flower Sally, a very clever ekphrastic look at a very sad looking flower, but it looks like it won't need much to get it going. A great entry in this dribble fiction contest Sally, good look, blessings, Roy

This like our plants in Texas on most years. So far this year, we've had plenty of rain, but will it last. The weather is a mystery this year. Thank you for sharing your contest entry with us and I wish you luck.

Hey Sally. This is a fun little story about the flower that can't get enough water. It's tough for the little flowers when the big flowers take all the rain.

Good luck in the contest.

Pal Z :-))

Poor little flower. All those big ones are selfish and won't share the water. You've certainly made me feel sorry for her/him. Cute idea for a Dribble Flash Fiction. Good luck in the contest.

Poor little flower - just wanting her share of the rain. I like your personification of the flower and children reading could relate very well to her situation. Best wishes in the contest!

Yes, it is one day at a time! I love the peony here and it is touching. Your poem is beautifully written. I wondered if the flower was a metaphor for someone! Just wondering!

Thank you very much for the excellent review and kind comments. This actually is a Lotus, I think. And I just thought it was so pretty because it's my favorite shade of pink. I fashioned the story from just looking at the picture. Sending you my best today as always, Sally xoxo
