Losing a pet is always hard, even if our time with them is short. This is a wonderful tribute and a kind act to write a poem for your friend about his beloved creature.

This is a lovely tribute to the kitty. It is so sad to lose a pet. What a kindness you are gifting him with by writing this poem. You have used some great metaphors. Your allusions will draw the readers in in many ways. Very nice.

That's a nice compliment and tribute to this friend who lost his cat. Always nice to remember. my husband has loved our dogs- the one before the one we have now was Maisie, a doxie. Her ashes are still atop our fridge - one day I guess he'll scatter them.]

I had a six toed cat named Sassy aka Sashquatch meaning "big foot."
Ernest Hemmingway brought the first six toed cat to Anerica. People who own these cats are often poets in my case Sassy was picked from a litter and given to me as a gift.
It wasnt long after that I picked up the pen to write.
I love your Luci with blue eyes...
She is as beautiful as your story unfolds her life.

I have always loved cats. My last one was a shelter rescue I had for over ten years, named Angel. She was twelve and developed kidney disease so I had to let her go last year. Cats are a blessing...especially when they're purring because they are happy and contented being with you. I am sorry about the loss of Luci. It's a really nice thing, Darren, to have written this poem for your friend.
