Well crafted, just a few knits to look at. Also, I suggest changing the category from General fiction to Fan fiction, and perhaps adding a small note telling the readers the exact time frame this takes place in relations to the official stories.

notes:

Not that I even give a rat's arse about the toe-rag, she reminded herself sternly as she walked

- Suggest placing the internal thoughts in Italics to differentiate them.

"What are you three going on about?" He asked,
-"What are you three going on about?" he asked,

"Evans," He said in an undertone.
-"Evans," he said in an undertone.

I am so sorry for not knowing about fan fiction. Mea Culpa. I owe you a six. This is just marvelous. I am 68, and I admit out loud that I love Harry Potter books. I had them on tape too. Jim cummings could really do the voices. This was great. You should send it to J.K. Again, this is quite wonderful and I want more. :-) Karen P.S. The picture is glorious.

Oh dear, it is not. This is called fanfiction and it quite a thriving practice online. It?s a fun project I work on when I?m experiencing writers block. I can understand your concern if you have never heard of this concept, but I assure you it is not illegal as long as I?m not making money off of it.

Taken from the web: " Fanfiction is fair use as long as the work is "transformative," meaning that the new author added content with new meaning and value to the original work. The derivative work must also be "noncommercial" in nature, meaning the author does not make any money from their fanfiction."

And as a last note, this is JK Rowling?s opinion on fanfiction:
"JK Rowling?s reaction is that she is very flattered by the fact there is such great interest in her Harry Potter series and that people take the time to write their own stories. Her concern would be to make sure that it remains a non-commercial activity to ensure fans are not exploited and it is not being published in the strict sense of traditional print publishing."

    Hope this helps!

I am vastly relieved. I went and read it. It is marvelous. Well worthy of inclusion in the Harry Potter world. I apologize for the lack of knowledge on my part. In this case, write more, I will read. Karen

No worries! fanfiction was really popular when I was growing up, but I can imagine that if you haven't heard of it, it can sound like stealing! I admire your passion and your ability to shift perspective with new information!

And glad you enjoyed it - Harry Potter is one of my all-time favorites, and the audiobooks are so good!

Well, with the one-star, you could have jumped down my throat and pulled out my esophagus. You politely explained how I was an idiot without once calling me one.
I really was trying to help and you knew it. Thanks, and write more. :-) Books are better than movies. Karen

I could tell you were trying to look out for me/do what you felt was right! No harm in that.

And agreed, books are always better than movies!

The first book and the first movie are the best ones. I didn't care for a lot of the later movies. They got so dark and mean-spirited. On that note, I want to make a contest. I thought maybe I would have people kill me. They could do it with kindness, or a steamroller. Maybe have me get entangled in my support hose, and have me hurdle down the stairs, anything. But it must make me laugh. Do you think anyone would sign up? Would you like to kill me please? :-) Karen

Honestly I think it's a fun idea for a contest! Especially the idea of literally killing someone with kindness. There's a lot of comedic potential there!

I see you have more Lily stories. Must get to reading. Maybe you could "splinch" me!
Or have some spell go horribly awry. :-)

I enjoyed the read. I wasn't sure if this was intended to be a spinoff of the original Harry Potter saga. Forgive me if I seem a bit confused.

That aside, this is great writing, and it kept me engaged.

I wish you much success with the contest. Best, JohnC

Thank you! Yes, it's a fanfiction story based on Harry Potter characters. It's something I write for fun when I am experiencing some writer's block or feeling stuck.

This was a fun and an enjoyable one! I'm afraid I've never read a Harry Potter book or seen a film but I really don't need to now because this lovely chapter seem to provide all the potential mischief and pranks I need. The dialogue is excellent and credible and, though I haven't read any previous writes, already I'm feeling quite at home here. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Taking on any sort of Potter and crew follow up and filling the shoes of J. K. Rowling is a mighty task; but I must say, even as a huge fan of hers, I don't see a drop off. :-) Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! I'm honored by your high praise! This project has been a fun way for me to enjoy writing when I'm experiencing writer's block on my other stories. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the rest if you read on!

You have the right mind set. When a block props up, most stop writing. But the key is to start a new project and keep the brain churning. The activity gives us new, and many times, even better ideas on our blocked projects. I'm not a conventional thinker, so it's sometimes a chore to stay on the same plane with readers and other writers. :-)

I totally agree! And I also have a bit of an unconventional mind, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Okay... I had to back up a chapter so I could get the very beginning... I really wish you'd waited a little bit... but this is okay... my other stuff can wait! :)

"...in a moment he was attacked quite barbariously by a certain ecstatic, messy-haired wizard." I could see- and feel - this happening!

At the end, it doesn't sound as if growing up happened over the summer?

Enjoyed.
