This is really great children's poetry. The picture goes so well with it! You have such a great imagination, as you take Harry through his paces of life as a hippo, and at the same time you wrote such a beautiful acrostic decima.

Love this descriptive Decima Acrostic about Harry the Hippo (what gorgeous and such cute creatures they are). I particularly like the closing lines
projecting himself through the slush,
outstanding and so debonair - made me chuckle picturing it.
cheers,
valda

What a great characterization of Harry the Hippo. Harry has the attitude that he doesn't care. He isn't worried about not having hair. He doesn't rush through life. I like that he finds himself debonair! Excellent rhyme. Interesting subject, and great presentation. judi

I really like this poem. It is very descriptive and the rhyme flows well. It is a nice animal lovers' poem. The photo is really sweet. Excellent work. Good luck in the contest.

What a perfect hippo picture for a children's poem!!

There are so many tiny lessons of being yourself and accepting your uniqueness in this poem.

Well done!

An Acrostic Decima for Potlatch Poetry
Harry Hippo

Hello, my friend,

You did a great job with the acrostic poetic form. This is a fine entry for the potlatch poetry contest or challenge.

It's funny and the presentation is adorable.

Good job my friend,

Gypsy

I love it! What a wonderful poem of this lovely shy hippo! LOL. He looks so cute too. Your words endear him to the reader, his lack of hair, which fortunately doesn't bother him, but does cause him to blush when he sees everyone looking at him. How rude! I would blush, too! Well done, Yvonne, I really enjoyed your poem. Stay safe, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. I'm glad you liked him as much as I do. I love hippos and rhinos. I think they are beautiful. I hope you're staying safe, too.

Harry looks like a happy hippo. Why should he care if someone wants to stare? Why not just enjoy wading in the pond and munching on the grass? What a great life.

Awe, Yvonne. What a lovely imagination you have and how wonderfully young you are at heart. It's refreshing and I loved your poem. There's such great imagery and I can just imagine it all. Great entry and a joy to read. Ulla:)))

Well done. A fair description of Harry although despite his might he is rather cute in this picture. You really had to pluck your imagination for this one.

Not really. I'm mentally about eight years old. lol. I'm the prime example that age and maturity do not necessarily go hand-in-hand. I'm glad you liked it.
