I like this poem because it sounds as if it was thoughtful and well-organized. Great end rhyme of 'endured' and 'skewered.' Also it has a sense of humor that has persisted. Nice share, and great entry for this contest.

I love your story and is this a true story that you were actually born on April Fool's Day? That was a setup for pranks and a lot of jolting humorous jokes at you and about you. I'm glad you came through with that having a complex and as you said you enjoyed it. I love the way you build up your story and set the scene are your experiences being a April Fool baby and then you took the reader on a journey of your life as an April Fool baby up to your manhood and I love the picture because it has a kind of humorous twist to it. Because you're sitting there with no expression in particular on your face and just sitting there looking at your birthday cake which seems to be on fire. I like that dumb found look. Well you got my vote

Thank you for your excellent review and vote! I have learned over the years that every day I have is a gift and blessing from God and I can choose to enjoy it as such. My Lord Jesus has taught me that I was born to be a victor in Christ and not a victim. I look back at my early years and can see that even then he was using all things together for my good, even birthday!.

The author's words are interesting, clear and creative. The reader
felt sad when reading some parts of this poem. However, when I
read the author's notes I was so glad the author just eventually accepted
his date of birth and even enjoyed it. This is a great poem and written

You might as well embrace it! And happy belated birthday! I always thought being born on leap day would be cool. I was a June baby but man to have a birthday every four years. That would be so cool. Great job.

Right! My husband worked with someone and they were expecting this year on leap year. The baby held in an extra week or so but we were all waiting for him to have a leap day baby.
