What a captivating story! You have written this so well, it kept me riveted. It is a fascinating topic and you have worked your story from the interesting concept of switched gender:

Perhaps the residual feelings of betrayal were contributing to the fact that he seemed to remain emotionally distant. They often mirrored one another's feelings. It was difficult to tell where one left off and the other began."

It is said that those types of loves, the eternal loves, will meet time after time, in life after life. People will always have something to learn, and so, there may be something that either keeps them apart or tears them apart before their time is through. Either way, the time will hopefully come, when they will have been deemed worthy to find each other and be with each other throughout their whole lives, happily. :)

I remembering researching myself on the similarities of the Kennedy and lincoln assassination. They were scary relevant for sure! The tragic love story between Marilyn and John are intriguing as well, even if it was all alleged! Thank you for sharing!
