Good read - though a bit tough for me, as I am blending into this forum.
Using of some song lyrics in different and humurous way .. I say: let it grow; let it grow; let it grow.
I personally liked - Have Your Toke and Eat It Too?
Looking forward for more interesting reads.

Thanks for stopping by DIP. I welcome your visits! I thought it would be fun to patch together several unrelated rants. Glad you enjoyed my spoutings. I would just LOVE to have an audience for my material--I'd be especially thrilled to perform my monologues. Cheers. LIZ

I enjoyed your spoutings on a variety of subjects. I was very amused at you be mistaken for a muslim but I somewhat shocked that people treat them the way you were treated. You've made good points in an amusing way on the other subjects. I particularly liked your party-hopping and your quotes to support your position. Fun and reading and food for thought..

There is so much to think about in this posting. instead of thinking about the first section, I began reading because I was enjoying the variety of topics under observation.

Interesting writing.

Hi Elizabeth! I loved, loved, LOVED your spoutings! I really wish I had a 6 left for you. It totally deserves a 6. I feel bad, it's only Wednesday and I'm giving out virtual 6's. They need to give us more of those. I never have enough, people are getting too funny, too good with their writing, too interesting, too right on the money... too everything! :)

Thank you Susan! Most important are your wonderful words. Thrilled that you enjoyed my spoutings. I may put another set of my rants together sometime. Regarding the sixes--there is already so much grade inflation here that "excellent" has become the default. People get defensive "you take away" one of "their" stars. I was muted and trashed on the forum for giving 3-stars for a 3-line "poem" that was entirely trite. I spout about the rating system on my profile. Most recently, I posted a self-deprecating parody song "Where Have All the Sixes Gone?" As I say, it's not the stars but the words that count. Thanks for yours. Cheers. LIZ

I tried that at New Years once... it was my resolution. Honest stars with the reviews to match. It didn't go over well... let me tell you! So, I got mad and started my own little survey that got me tossed off the forum. LOL I used the reviews for it. Let me know if you want an honest review... I'll give it to you, otherwise I'll give you what you want to hear. I cut and pasted it through a ton of poetry and stories, then I got tossed out of the furum until I 'reviewed' all of my reviews, thus earning all of the money in my account. I was always going to do it, I was just tired of guessing. The problem turned out to be all the liars. Sure, tell me what's wrong, give me the whole list... and it can be a really long one too, that's fine... I still want a 5. ? Well, okay, fine... so do I, but if I write a piece of garbage, I expect at least a 4! Someone has GOT to get my attention if they're sending me a laundry list! Now, if when I've fixed the laundry list, they want to raise the stars, that's up to them... I know a lot of people who do that. I think that's fine, it gets people to pay attention. They have to go back in and change their work, which is a pain in the ass, if they want to raise their stars. I've learned a great deal that way, it's not a bad teaching method. It used to anger me about the star thing, but then someone said something to me about it. She said, she never gives anything less than a 5. If it's really bad, she just won't review it. She says it doesn't hurt anyone to give someone a 5... and it doesn't. All it's going to do is possibly encourage someone. Who's that going to hurt? Sixes are different I suppose, they're special... the coveted honor... lol
One thing about poetry though, since the whole thing about 'grading' is based on structural types of things, not content. Content is completely subjective in most cases and you can't 'grade' on your opinions.
I keep wondering what could have been wrong with the 3-line poem to get it a 3! The thing is, as long as poetry follows the 'rules' technically you can't really bring down the stars for any reason. Your opinion isn't supposed to be allowed to enter into it where the star system is concerned. Personally, I don't think that this works well... someone can write something that really stinks but follows all the rules. You give it a 5, declare it structurally sound and what... say you wouldn't use it as a sign over your dog's bed? lol I guess you just skip those. ;)

Thanks for your thoughtful response. Re your question about the 3-star 3-line "poem": it consisted of trite prayer words. Fine for prayer--don't pass it off as poetry. I never consider form when reviewing poems, having no knowledge or interest--I consider overall flow--forced rhythm/rhyme? and fresh vs tired imagery. For a three-line poem, if at least two are decent I give 5-stars; 4 if only one; three if none. I don't give less than 3 stars since frankly, such indeed seems to be the average quality. I did give two in a row 1-star to a "poet" who made up many words and spouted gibberish--I called her out suspecting she was mocking our auto-five system. Indeed, other than one reviewer who gave her 2 (and was tactful) the other two reviews were 5-stars, as were those I saw for other crap in her portfolio. (I'd feel bad if the wo/man was brain-damaged or psychotic!)
