Congrats on your prize for this elegant poem--skillful incorporation of, and distinction amongst, synonyms solitude / alone / (not) lonely. Cheers. LIZ

I looked at all the recently announced winners of the 3-line poem contest and yours was the one I liked the most. It spoke of a self-sufficiency that brings tranquility and satisfaction, which no doubt writing poetry does for you. The photo of the beautiful white heron emphasises your poem nicely.

Oh, this is SOOO true, June -- there are the times when we all need some time to ourselves, but when it is mandated, too many little things 'eat at us' ... our mind finds troubles that aren't there.... we have to have HOPE!! ;)
Thanx for sharing and sorry I'm so far behind! ;) Yvette

Oh this is so well done. I'm sorry not to have a sixer for you. Best of luck in the contest with this excellent observation. The image is gorgeous and fits well with your theme. Marilyn

You have made excellent use of all of your syllables in this very timely poem. Yes, solitude can be wonderful--for a while and when it's only by choice. Then we can get pretty lonely--like NOW!

A very well-written three-line poem about solitude by choice is usually a peaceful lifestyle without a partner. The ones who likes to have a partner around can become extremely lonely.

Very nice three line poem with a lovely picture to illustrate it. This is true. If you choose to be alone you feel comfortable and soothed by your choice but if you prefer to be with people solitude can cause great loneliness.

-Lovely image and
nice presentation, June.
-The heron is one of
my favorite birds.
-The syllable count is good,
along with effective use
of one continuous thought.
-A good topic with
good use of alliteration,
description, and message.
-Good luck in the contest.

Very poignant poem that reads very much like a proverb. Its truth is indisputable. The photo of the bird that appears withdrawn, possibly cold, damp, and inward-looking, drives home the message of the poem very well.

So very insightful, and so very true during this insane time in the world. I love the first line, because I am someone who gives a ton of my energy and absorbs others energy. So that solitude is so sacred to me when I choose it. Loneliness is a sad thing. Your poem described such contrast to both feelings, in a beautifully constructed way. Xo-kellie
