We had a final tea with a close friend of ours, when her husband was around we enjoyed a close relationship with them, he died of cancer a couple of years ago. She's very social with lots of friends, we'll just have to talk with her on the phone. A beautifully written post, I think you are very social too Chris, yeh? Be brave, it will pay off, well done, great write, blessings, Roy

I've been home with a broken foot for the past month, but I work at a grocery store so I'd still be working through it all. So far I only go to my doctor appointments for my foot and my therapy to keep me sane. You know the occasional trip the store for things. But, in two weeks I'll be in the mix of it all again. Hopefully, this passes fast. I can hope at least.

Extremely well written! Your words flow so easily! How I wish this would be over very soon! It gets scarier every day! I have asthma and started running a fever so I ended up in the hospital myself. I am a retired nurse and I was so proud of the hospital staff! They all know any one of them could be sick next, but they trudge on taking care of others. Nurses deal with stress in morbid ways. Seem to be able to find something to laugh about when there isn't a thing funny! But, knowing most of them they took me right in and kept me smiling most of the time. I gave my own injections and for some reason, it was quite hilarious to us. But, thank the Lord for those who are in charge and jump right in and do what must be done! Thanks for sharing your poem! It was extremely good!
Stay safe and healthy!
Patty

Hi Patty, Thank you so much for your generous review and six stars I am glad I posted it and your words have been the tonic needed. I too am a nurse and still working at 67 but have taken time off so I can help my working daughter and elderly MUm . I dont need to expose myself to any bugs at the moment so have chosen some leave. however ai do admire my colleages who are battling this awful crisis . And yes you are right nurses do seem to find humour in the most innapropriate situations but perhaps that is our coping mechanism .You also stay safe and healthy Many Thanks sending a Nurses Cheers Christine

Hello Chrissy, you have excelled yourself and told, in perfect form, the situation throughout the world due to this new pandemic. We've had epidemics before but nothing approaching Covid19. and Covid19 will just disappear' I hope that is the case, but unless they find a vaccine quickly it will be back. You have done a brilliant job with this poem - it deserves a six but I'm out. Warm regards and good health to you and yours - love Dorothy xxx

Hi Dorothy, Thanks for you uplifting review I had time yesterday to reflect and I also love Banjo Patersons meter (The man from Snowy River) So once I started this resulted and so pleased it has been warmly received overnight. Your poem tells it like it is, Chrissy. It is in good form. Your lines read well with good flow and meaning. You have good facts to support your words. Yes, there are always those who ignore and put others in danger. Thankfully, the medical workers [ALL] are doing their best with what they have. Social isolation should help if people adhere to it. Thanks for sharing an important work. Respectfully, Jan

Hi Jan, Thanks and that is me tell it like it is and i did borrow a bit from Banjo Patersons 'Man From Snowy River' meter I love that type of flow. I quite often write in that style and this just seemed to transpire. I t does seem like in a few short weeks our lives have dramatically changed and hopefully people take this threat seriously amd we can find our way out . Cheers Chris

The author's words are heartfelt, clear, kind and thought provoking.
The reader pondered on the words and theme of this poem. Thank
you for the author's notes and taking the time to write these words
for all of us here at Fanstory. The artwork is engaging and led me to
this poem. May you be well and safe......Thank you, Maria

Chris,

A great summary of what's been going on. This will provide you with a neat look back at some time in the future of just what these crazy days were like. I can't wait until we are on the other side.

Thanks!

Hi Robyn, Thanks so much I tried to summarise from the first time we heard about this virus to now and how this has impacted on us all no matter where we are. I think (hope) we will be a better society less greedy and more compassionate and loving as our whole existence is at threat lets hope we learn some lessons. Stay well and keep up the zinc Cheers Chrisx and a virtual Socially accepted long arm hug your way

This is a well-thought out analysis of what we are all living through this spring, and where things may be going. I agree with you that it's unlikely that things will simply return to "pre-covid". Every time my mind approaches the post-virus possibilities, I am forced to shy away in horror.

a grammar question for your consideration:
not long we saw it reaching other lands>'fore long we saw it reaching other lands

Nothing will ever be the same again Christine and you log here the series of events that took place after just one person was infected and how it spread like wildfire! So many deaths and the numbers are rising rapidly, stay safe, don't go out and look after yourself, love Dolly x
