Hello, Yvette,

Watch out! I am coming for your little grim reaper! lol

I love your poem. It's a fine entry for the 20 words poem contest. Good count. You managed to keep rhyme and meter in a tiny poem...well done, my friend. I like the presentation too.

LOL!! Thanx so much for the cheerful review, Gypsy!! Just trying to spread some sunshine and remind folks that even though things seem 'ominous' on one front, we still have so much to celebrate! :) Take care! ;) Yvette

The six stars say it all. I love your fusion of science, philosophy, and imagination. Now, for that ether. When I had my tonsils out 69 years ago, I remember being scared when they put a white cloth over my face but I could still see this round thing coming down on my nose. Don't remember any champagne! ; ))))

Nooooo... not that ether!! ;) I HATED how I felt when I woke up... not only in pain but throwing up and disoriented for hours... BAAAAAD memory! :( ;( Thanx so much for those wonderful stars, Susan, and I apologize for the delayed response.... just trying to make it through the remainder of the school year ONLINE - UGH!! ;) Those stars help with the smile, my lady, so thanx so much!! ;) Yvette

Yes, Yvette, we should celebrate any all-encompassing events, wherever we are. Soon, I hope, when I have someone else with me in my house I will raise a glass to the survival of those remaining. :)Ralf

This is a lovely little poem, very creative. I am glad you explained the ether part in your notes, it confused me a bit when I first read the poem. Your line - the rich breath of rain- is outstanding. Great image also. Best of luck in the contest.!

I love your nerdy meanderings BLOTS, and what a stellar image you found! Now tell me that the image isn't of undersea life and not outer- space life. It looks like some gorgeous phosphorescent plant you'd see at an aquarium. Very awesome to say the least, but I'm calling you on it. It's sea, not space! ;)

I felt a strong sense of freedom and joy whilst reading your poem, Yvette! It is always important to celebrate the small things, for we won't know how much longer we can do it for. Stay safe my friend x

Hello Yvette. This is a cool, short form. It has a surreal sound and appearance to me. The picture adds to the surrealism I think.

Seeing the word "ether" took me back to 1972 and the PARC (Xerox) facility in Palo Alto. Al Gore may think he invented the Internet, but Xerox invented ethernet.

Sorry for the distraction. My mind is beginning to wander as I sit here day after day. Since I'm talking about 1972, I may be regressing back toward my childhood.

WHO KNOWS????? Z

All 'mind wanderers' are heartily welcome 'round here as they are at least those that you can depend on to think for themselves, yeah?! ;) :) Thanx for stopping by on this contest shortie, Z -- trying to spread some sunshine and remind folks that even though things seem 'ominous' on one front, we still have so much to celebrate! :) Take care (whether you're in this year or '72 - lol)! ;) Yvette

Hiya Yvette. One of these days my mind might wander off and not come back. It's always a fear. There are some years when I'm not sure. :))) When you can't celebrate life, what can you celebrate???
Take care of yourself! Z (*_*)

Not nerdy! But, I did learn some new words today though! LOL I enjoyed your poem (especially after you told me what those words meant! LOL) The picture is stunning. It really drew my attention. Plus, the colorful way it's all put together made it a very pleasant read!
Stay safe! Stay healthy!
Patty

I really enjoyed reading this uplifting, and beautifully presented, posting, Yvette. Your Author's Notes are informative but, looking as hard as I can, I still can't spot the nerdy part. lol
