The poem aptly personifies jealousy as a monster. The use of alliteration ...ms' and ss' and the repetition of 'hearts and souls,' in the last line of the two verses adds to the poems effectiveness in describing that most corrosive of emotions. The adjectives and verbs...scalds, devours spews, malevolent, fiery, hateful, all combine to make a powerful impact on the reader. The picture complements the words of this imaginative poem very well.

I like how you compared jealousy to a dragon. I like the descriptive words and how you displayed the piece including the picture you chose. Good luck in the contest.

I think that you wrote a very truthful poem about jealousy and envy. It is very well written and a much needed topic to talk about. Thank you for sharing.
