Hello Mike. That's a funny story about cake. I like "dirt" cake. I do the baking at home and I specialize in dark chocolate muffins with marshmallow icing. With no one here but my wife and me, I get to eat a large share of them. :)))

Saturday morning remains the hardest one to get up early on. Your party, you can have any colors you want. Black balloons ah nice touch. Maybe the cat will stay away from the vacuum next time. Watching the kids chase each other would be hysterical. Sounds like a good time. Well detailed story.

I enjoyed this. You're doing a good job making things seem normal and yes, we all need to feel a little normal in our lives. You Izzy character is a funny little girl. You've made me start to crave chocolate but that isn't hard to do. I was wondering if this was really flash fiction because it is longer than most but see it can go up to 1500 word so I guess this qualifies. Nicely written.
