I think I'm not the only one that was at first a little confused by it, but your little side note speaking of overripe fruit made sense. It speaks to me of a love that went awry but healed when the sun shined its light back on it.

With the Love title and description a red herring, the author, conflating the emotion and rotting fruit, plots misdirection.
Good try, Victor!

Well now, this is an interesting take on fruit? Or, you are writing about the fruit of life in the love so long ago? I'm not sure about your musings. I like to think it is a love lost and found in later years and the sun did shine again? Bless you, Kay.

I guess everyone knows what it's like to experience a prolonged period of aloneness inside and outside of a relationship. Thank you for sharing this. The picture is very nice as well. Good work!

Now time's fine, overripe mind crack, along with me - this is the true story here. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings. Please stay safe and take care of yourself.

The title suggests that this piece is one that would talk about love. However, reading it through left me confused and I didn't understand what message was being conveyed.

Then your comment, "just a note on fruit overripe" left me even more bewildered.

I do like the last stanza. I can feel hope into the future.

My favorite part was, "'cause it
comes back
when you decide

to walk along
and shine again
on me.", because it reminded me of a relationship where someone missed the other a lot and how it ended on a happy note!

The Lord led me to this verse after I read this,

Proverbs 18:24 New King James Version (NKJV)

24 A man who has friends [a]must himself be friendly,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
