Ahh, this is a lovely tribute to all those that have / had a lovely mother and one that brightened up the world with their smiles and laughter. I really like the middle line and the alteration that is peppered throughout. Great job! ~DD

Thanks DD for catching my alliterations and remembering the smiles of our mothers and grandmas.

This is a very nice and sentimental five-seven-five poem. Picture fits text perfectly. Have to save this one for May and Mothers' Day. Best regards, Jerry

Jerry,
I wrote it too early for any Mother's Day contest, but I had the right sentiment. As my spouse gently reminds me, it's Mother's Day 365 days, 24-7 (-;

This is a beautiful posting in tribute to your mom, Mark. I take it that isn't her actual picture. It is a good one, though... very appealing and connects well with the message of your words!

Yep, it is not my Mom, but the picture does reflect her smile and good looks. She lived to be a healthy 95-year old lady and lots of smile-wrinkles to share with her family, including several great grandchildren.

Mark,
Hello!! Lovely post. Don't think this is a picture of your mom, but she is a gorgeous woman. Such a kind face and warm smile.
Your words are just as pleasant-kind and warm.
I am guessing that you remember your mom's smile?
I am lucky to still have my mom around, but my grandmother passed away at age 93 and what I remember most about her was her hands and her laugh. Isn't that strange?
But now when I think about it, I spent a lot of time sitting on her lap, so her hands would have been in front of me and she would have been giggling in my ear, so not so strange.
Well done. Hope you are well.
Blessings.

Beth

Beth,
Yep, that was not my mother, but my Mom, who celebrated 95 years of a good life, did. At the end of her days, she had many smile-wrinkles and she lived to know her great grandchildren for just a few years (-:
Do appreciate your support for my post.
Stay well and safe.

Beautiful picture, I don't think it's your mom but it's lovely. It could be your mom.... I don't know.
I have a few memories of my mom but not too many. She died when I was ten years old. The memories I do have are sweet.
The flow if the poem could be improved, in my humble opinion.
laugh lines etched her mouth
and smile, they're sewn in our souls ~

Thanks for your comments Gypsy!
No it is not my mother. Unlike your loss, my Mom lived to celebrate her 95th birthday in good health. She did have a smile.
Your suggestion is valuable because I ?felt? too it did not flow the way I really wanted. With already a bunch of reviews, I will leave the post as is.

I like the indelible nature of your memories of Mom. I hope my children remember the smile lines and not the worry lines that are etched between my brows. I must work on those worry lines.
I also like that the memories are sewn into your soul. That's a very sweet thought.
Nice job, Mark.

Debbie,
From your bio photo, it doesn't look that you have any worry lines. LOL
Hopefully we have good memories of our parents and grandparents, even if sometimes they were mad about her antics.
Pleased you again liked my post.

I've got the worry lines for sure. Two of them right between the eyes.

When I smile, they disappear. That's nice.

Mark,
You've written an excellent 575 poem. I love the combination of laugh lines etched and smile sewn. The reader can fill in the memories of Mom that were made through a lifetime.
Nice.

Patricia,
So pleased you enjoyed my post. Fathers also had those smiles. All are imprinted on our memories. Hopefully, my children and grandchildren will think the same of me. LOL

Hard to believe Mother's Day is only weeks away. This 5-7-5 paints a loving picture of the Speakers mother, a woman who obviously laughed a lot and who is missed very much. Rod

Rod,
My Mom did laugh (and I do miss her - both she and my mother in law lived in good health to celebrate their 95th birthdays!), but the photograph is not of her. LOL
Thanks for your support for this post.
