I'm sure this lovely, well-written, descriptive poem will resonate with many readers, now that the view from our windows is more precious than
usual, when we're being urged to stay in!

Good point, Janice. I hadn't thought of that, but you are so right. We shall all cherish the views from our windows more, now that we are shelter bound. Thank you for your very kind comments about my poem. I appreciate your thoughtful review and excellent rating very much.
Take care, stay safe, and well,
Jesse

Excellent in the way you used different forms and yet the rhyming and message were clear. Change is difficult and there is some good and bad, I would miss the sights too

Thank you, Barb, for your kind words covering many of the parts that help make this poem what it is. I agree that change is always difficult, if it is worthwhile, there are always risks involved. But that makes the challenge of change even more fruitful, as it gives us a chance to grow. Thank you for this insightful and delightful review. I appreciate your excellent rating too.
Take care, stay safe and well.

My favorite part was, "Supreme is the scene from my window.
Fortunately, it faces a certain way:
I am energized by the rise and set
of the nourishing sun each day.", because I could feel the gratefulness and peace in your words you used!
The Lord led me to this verse after I read this,
Isaiah 40:31 New International Version (NIV)
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Okay, James... call me a doubting Thomas... Can you really see egrets from your forest? I know Gulls will come fairly far inland, after all, they hang out in the McDonalds parking lot in Wakefield, and probably in Warwick too... lol, but Egrets are a shorebird... aren't they? So sorry you're going to lose your view. :( Bummer...

Hello Susan. I live within minutes of the Humboldt bay, and yes, I see egrets almost every day, as well as all of the other birds I mentioned. Thank you for your interesting "doubting Thomas" review, and thank you for the excellent rating, too.
Stay safe and well.

Thank you for sharing your special view and memorializing it with this poem plus matching picture. I live in a four-story condo, which I will eventually have to leave due to health reasons that make it difficult to manage the thirty-two steps to my unit. Until then, I will not take for granted our 180-degree view of the Pacific. I admired your rhymed quatrains and all the bird species. Keep enjoying the "symmetry". Cheers- Joan

Hello Joan.
I am thrilled to receive an exceptional rating, and an equally great review from you. Thank you for sharing your story of your four-story condo with the view of the pacific coast. Wow. That must be gorgeous. I appreciate your kind comments on my rhymed quatrains, and of all the species of birds I am able to see. Cherish that view of yours as long as you can, and I'm sure you will remember it after you need to move. Have a lovely week, and stay well and safe.
Take care,
Jesse

A beautifully written piece Jesse, it's a shame that you're moving from your top floor. My daughter, hubby, and grandkids lived in a top floor penthouse in Manhattan over looking the East River on one side, and Central Park, I'd arise 5:00am, with iPad in hand, and write, they've come back to Australia now, but I miss those days. Beautifully written in rhyming quatrains and aabb rhyming, blessings, Roy
