I really enjoyed reading this poem. You have described the setting from the window excellently and in an immersive fashion, it really set the scene in the readers mind!

Hello Jesse,
It is the content of a poem, like the content of a mind
that sets it apart. The view sounds very calming,
while also stimulating to the senses and imagination.
Nature shines as brightly as the rising sun
and as quietly as the setting.
I like the way you progressed outward to the distant trees
and then the sky.
Good use of rhymes in varying patterns, too.
I hope your new view is just as peaceful.
Best wishes to you, my friend.
Robert

    Hello Robert.
This is a delicate, well described review, as you see this poem as no one else does. The rising and setting sun. You notice the progression from the window, to the trees nearby, to the distant treeline, and then to the sky. You find value in the varying rhyme patterns, which irks some folks. To vary, is part of who I am as a poet. Thank you for wishing me a peaceful view at my, as yet chosen, new place. I am hoping that the living style there is peaceful, as well. Thank you oh so much, for this amazing review and exceptional rating. You have raised my mood and my esteem.
    Take care, my friend,
    Jesse

A beautiful poem and beautiful scenery. I'm sorry that you will have to move and miss seeing the "tall timbers lining the sky." I hope your new place will have "symmetry" in natural and spiritual beauty!

Thank you for your touching review. I will be moving (hopefully) to a place with kinder, friendlier people, which will help offset the 5 story view I now have the pleasure to enjoy. Also, the natural beauty of this area is mine to surround myself with as I go on my daily walks. Thank you for your kindness in comments, and in the additional member cent pump to this post. They are much appreciated.
    Stay safe and well.

Hello, James,

Your house's view sounds beautiful. I understand why you are going to miss it. I had a similar view once and I do miss it sometimes. Well done.

Thank you for understanding how I'll miss this wonderful view. I need a fresh start somewhere else, and who knows, the view may be even better. I appreciate your kind comments, and thank you for this review and the excellent rating.

I can sympathise with you Jesse, for I "see" many things that on first glance, seem strange, then my memory kicks in and I realise my eyes are playing tricks with me again. Reflections especially. Nonetheless it very often reminds me of something seen long ago, and at times, a tear forms for a lost moment once familiar and common. I also know what it will mean to you to live on a lower plain after an eagle view of your surrounds.. Fortunately I, living in a ground floor bungalow, with woodland and bush all around, can walk out on my deck - 9 feet off the ground, and get a 'bird's eye' view of everything going on around me. So much yet to return along with Spring's return. Though today? we've had another snowfall and all our views are again white! The last one? Not holding my breath! Great to see you posting, although sad for you, that your lofty eagle view will soon be history. Keep safe and take care. As always, fondest regards. Denis.

    Hello Denis.
My eyes don't 'play tricks on me.' Thanks for sharing your experiences, though. And as far as seasons go, I see these birds and evergreen trees all year through. Thanks for your interesting commentary and review. Also, thanks for the excellent rating. It is very difficult to move, let alone find a suitable place with my indoor cat allowed, but it is necessary, because for a long time now, my neighbors have been harassing me. They are unfriendly to me because I'm different from them, and don't partake in their numerous activities. Anyway, thanks for sharing and for letting me share too. I am keeping safe but, under the circumstances, when my driver arrives, we get out of there for a while. Lately it's just been to park near the beautiful bay and soak in the rays and fresh air for a little while before heading back into the dungeon. I shared some more...so sue me! (Ha ha). Stay safe and well.
    Take care,
    Jesse

Hi Jesse and hang in there my friend. As for neighbours? When we bought this small bungalow and moved in 24 years ago, we had lovely neighbours. Everyone was friendly, got together: cracked jokes: exchanged experiences and had a grand company of folks who helped us settle in and looked out for us. Needless to say they were mostly older people like ourselves. Slowly their numbers changed. Younger folks moved in. No more friendly get togethers, no more coffee breaks. Help? They disappeared quicker than an icicle on a mid summer's day! No hands up, how are you doing? Look the other way when they see you and? Well you obviously have similar morons near you. Thank goodness you have a friend to take you away from them. I decided we'd isolate ourselves and I did it by planting a thick 8foot high cedar hedge across our front and between us and one neighbour to our East. Today, they can go to hell in a handcart as far as we're concerned. We enjoy friends visiting and thanks to my wife still being able to drive, we go out, as and when we can. I get a nightly visit from a Fox I feed and squirrels etc., that show our neighbours what friendship is all about. Lastly, I'll attach my e-mail address - hate the restrictions this site puts on me! If you'd trust me yours I would rather keep in touch in that manner. I can, if you use a computer with Flash (you can get if free from the Internet - send you my web site and you can see what two acres of heaven - garden - does to keep a retired landscape gardener and his wife happy. As it does. Neighbours? They don't even know it exists, and don't bother me one bit! My e-mail is poetscorner@sympatico.ca. Ciao for now Denis. Keep smiling Jesse. It keeps the neighbours guessing as to what you kknow and they don't! Lol.

That does sound an idyllic view. I'm sorry you need to move. We live on 18 acres almost surrounded by the Australian bush. One day we will have to move too but it will be a wrench.

Wow. 18 acres surrounded by Australian bush sounds remote and exotic to me. I live in a one bedroom apartment in a small town. We live in very different circumstances yet both have wonderful views. For me, I need a fresh start at a new place. The scenic view is the one thing I'll miss where I live now. Life is full of trade offs, isn't it? Thank you for this review and the excellent rating. Have a good rest of your week, and I hope you stay safe and well.

Jesse--sorry to hear you must move from this window on your world. All the more poignant this is. I love the closer re creative imagery under blurred vision. My vision doubles on rainy nights--good thing I don't drive--and also in theater lights--wondering why there were identical twins starring in a one-man show! Cheers. LIZ

Hello Liz. Thank you for your empathy toward the poignancy of this poem. I appreciate your choice of the closure, with the blurred vision creating imagery otherwise not shown. Thank you for sharing your story of your vision sometimes doubling. I have had this problem since it was diagnosed when I was 7 years old. You have a great sense of humor, which you shared with the identical twins in a one-man show. Thank you for your kind words, and the excellent review and rating.
    Take care,
    Jesse

Jesse, I am so happy I did not miss this. It is a beautiful poem and a worthy piece to remember because the view is excellently described. It has a touch of nostalgia already. I feel sorry you have to leave from the place where you have this magnificent view, as you painted it before me.

You might have to move to another place, but you won't give up writing,, do you? I would miss your posts.
Take care.
Marjon.

You may have to move from this lovely view from your building but I'm sure you will forever keep these images in your heart and mind. How could you forget those birds that share the forest?

In the air, I see birds of many species:
from gulls to egrets, ravens to geese.
A lone bald eagle, proud and free,
stretches his wings to soar with ease.

Thank you for sharing the beauty with us.

Hello from high on a bluff in Michigan, Jesse!
In spite of the distance that separates us, I can also see everything that you see -with the exception of egrets!
What a lovely progression of thought and images presented in your exceptionally well-crafted poetic offering.
I often stand on our back deck and just silently take in the view: East Grand Traverse Bay to my right, a gorgeous valley straight ahead, and West Grand Traverse Bay to my left. And all around: woodlands and animals - but very few people!
The subdivision next to ours is called "Eagles' Landing;" so majestic!
I would say that we both are incredibly fortunate to have attained a "sense of universal symmetry."
Hoping you are safe and well!
Thank you for sharing!

    Hello Diane.
You and I share majestic, though different, views of the world of nature. How lucky for us. I am safe and well, thank you, and I hope that you are too. Thank you for this special review and exceptional rating. I am moved by these gifts.
